The Light Lens Shield is an OEM component for GE refrigerators. As a cover installed behind the door light source, it protects sensitive refrigerator components. This shield measures about 16 inches wide by 5 inches high.
Normal wear occurs due to regular door opening/closing cycles inevitably generating friction over many years. Excessive impact from heavy load placements could potentially crack rigid plastic covers as well.
Symptoms of a damaged or defective light lens shield include:
