Replaced the entire ice making unit. It was a very simple project. The original ice maker is held in place by two screws at the front and some tabs in the back. Removing the screws allowed the unit to come free from the tabs and drop down. We simply released the wiring clip, removed the broken unit and reversed the process. Tested the refrigerator evaporator fan and it would not run. Ordered evaporator motor and fan blade just in case. I went ahead and replaced sensor just as a preventive measure. Did not take long. forgot to order fan clip, but was able to salvage old one. Works Great. Read more

I was not able to find the exact part, so I ordered several different parts from various websites. There was one that did fit but the electrical connection was the wrong type. I clipped off the connection from the new motor and spliced on the connection from the old motor. Now it seems to be working like a charm. Read more
