The Dispenser Cover Kit is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It includes both the outer lid that protects the detergent and rinse aid compartments as well as the latch mechanism securing it closed. This dishwasher dispenser kit included the cover, lid hinge pin, spring, snap, and latch.
Causes of a bad dispenser cover can include wear and tear from frequent use, physical damage from accidental impact, and discoloration or warping due to exposure to sunlight or heat.
Symptoms of a bad dispenser cover kit include:
- Cracks or breaks in the cover
- Discoloration or yellowing of the plastic
- The cover not fitting securely or becoming loose

Ordered a new detergent dispenser that arrived within two days. Removed screws on the inside of door that removes the front door panel. The detergent dispenser is held on by a bracket with six screws. There is one plugin that needs to be disconnected.
Everything is reinstalled as before. It work as before.

I initially purchased a door switch, thinking that it would solve the problem. I replaced the switch by removing the top 6 star screws, removing the component cover and removing one of the door switches (using a 3/16 socket) with the new one that I bought but I still had the problem.
