Oven door will not shut completely Mitch S. • Mount Laurel , NJ • January 21, 2019
I knew for sure that the hinge with the large spring was damaged, but elected to replace both hinges and receivers. Replacing the parts was fairly easy and would have taken me less then an hour. This model has thin metal covers over the hinge assemblies. I found that squeezing in the sides of the covers help to hold them in place on the hinge while reassembling the door.
My only difficulty was putting the door back on the oven. It took a little maneuvering but I managed to get it. Now the door...

Jennair jjw9630cas double oven doors did not close all the way and the light would not go out Wayne W. • East Longmeadow , MA • February 13, 2016
I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. It didn't look like a difficult fix so I ordered four new hinges and four new receptacles, which arrived quickly. I found a video on YouTube that showed how to replace the hinges and it...

The left oven door hinge was siezing door would not open fully Tom J. • Powder Springs , GA • November 19, 2014
I ordered both hinges (if the nylon roller was bad on the left, it was probably going to go bad on the right side as well). The web site was easy to navigate, order process simple. Hinges arrived quickly. Slide the oven door up and off. unscrew the three screws for the hinge. You need to then pull up with some force (there is a big spring in there), and twist the hinge to get the last bit out. I used a hemostat to hold the spring and keep it from falling back into the hole. removed the...

Aluminum drip pan melted onto floor panel in oven Rick R. • Syracuse , UT • August 27, 2014
An aluminum drip pan was placed into the bottom of the oven thinking that it would make for easier clean up......Don't Do It!
It melted to the bottom floor of the oven and could not be removed. It was infused with the coating on the floor pan, thus making it permanently damaged.
After a quick search of the internet, a replacement part was found at AppliancePartsPros.com
They had the part I needed at a very good price.
It only took me about 5 minutes to change out the old part with the new one...

I did research on my own prior to ordering. I looked at other sites, but was impressed with the online chatting-this was very helpful! I ordered three items and had difficulty with one rack. I called customer service and received a new rack the next day. This was meaningful to me because we were heading back home in a few days. The rep was very understanding to my situation and helpful.

Broken hinge assembly on one side of upper double ovens William D. • Phoenix , AZ • November 15, 2021
I always save original books and assembly sheets for appliances. That helped a lot ! The assembly sheets showed how the ovens went in, how they were attached to the cabinet and what to avoid so I didn’t bend trim piece. Original booklet showed how to replace oven doors and lights etc. Once the hinge assemblies arrived I started replacement after having read on the internet original hinges had some problems. So I had ordered both right and left hinges to avoid a possible problem with the...

Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP4455525
The Oven Door Hinge is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. This part allows the door to open and close effortlessly, providing a tight seal when the door is shut. Proper door function is essential for maintaining consistent oven temperatures and for the safety of the appliance users.
Causes of a bad Oven Door Hinge include prolonged use, accidental damage, or exposure to high temperatures, which can cause the metal to fatigue and the hinge mechanism to degrade.
Symptoms of a bad Oven Door Hinge include:
- Difficulty in opening or closing the oven door
- A door that doesn't sit flush when closed
- Squeaking or resistance during door movement
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Kitchen Aid wall oven hinge failure Pamela B. • East Sandwich , MA • March 28, 2014
For the third time in four years, the hinges failed on my KitchenAid wall oven. The appliance is out of warranty and KitchenAid does not consider this to be worthy of any recall. I was tired of paying the appliance repairman to change out the hinges, so I ordered the part online. Appliance Parts Pros is an awesome site for identifying the part you need, and they deliver quickly. Note that you probably need TWO hinges--they do not come as a set--and KitchenAid likes to make their model numbers...

Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP3195097
This panel forms the floor of the oven, sitting above the bake element or burner to shield it from spills and provide a smooth, stable surface. Replace a warped or damaged panel to help maintain proper heating and easier cleanup. What it does:
- Forms the oven floor above the bake element or burner
- Shields the heat source from drips and debris to help prevent scorching and odors
- Supports designed airflow and heat distribution in the cavity
- Common replacement signs: warped or dented panel, rust or chipped finish, smoke/odors from spills beneath the panel, or uneven baking results
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power (and shut off gas supply for gas ranges) before servicing; allow the oven to cool completely
- Remove oven racks; release front fasteners or clips and lift the old panel out of the rear tabs (method varies by model)
- Seat the new panel into rear tabs, align the front edge, and secure as originally installed
- Verify the panel sits flat and clear of the bake element or burner before reassembling
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Oven burner occasionally failed to light usually in the middle of roasting a turkey or chicken oven then "locked down " Ulrich O. • Millburn , NJ • January 05, 2015
The problem is a finicky ignition system, Direct Spark Ignition. Apparently Whirlpool redesigned the igniter/burner assembly slightly to make it more reliable. The repair is very easy. Turn off power, but you don't need to turn off gas. Remove oven bottom and flame spreader, then remove burner/igniter assembly, one screw at front, one at back. Lift out burner assembly carefully to avoid stretching wire. Pull electric connector from pin on burner/igniter assembly. Vacuum to clean oven. ...
