After reviewing a number of testimonials and your videos from your APP.com site I determined my most likely problem was either the defrost heater, thermostat, timer or possibly all three. The real challenge now began. Getting to the specific parts with my specific model number was a real challenge. Given all the symptoms, we figured that the control board went out. First, unplug the refrigerator. The control board was easy to access by removing a panel on the back of the fridge. I unplugged all the connectors and used a putty knife to release the board from the plastic retaining clips. There was some browning on the underside of the board and the back of the refrigerator that suggests one of the capacitors on the board blew. Replaced plastic housing for $100. Recommend buying the whole assembly though. Cost a bit more but you would be done in 15min. When you just replace the housing, you have to disassemble the old one very carefully to reuse several parts that do not come with the housing. A lot of fragile plastics. Plus, make sure you have GooGone and 3M thin tape handy; you will absolutely need it. Again, buy the whole assembly and save time and headache. Read more

Ordered two boards which were indicated as the possible problem. I took detailed pictures of each board before removing to assure I was reconnecting all the connections correctly. I used a long set of needle nose pliers to remove each connector. The tricky part was trying to figure out how to remove the boards.
