This gray magnetic door gasket seals the fresh food compartment door on the refrigerator, preventing warm air from entering and cold air from escaping. It attaches around the perimeter of the door and uses embedded magnets to hold a tight seal when closed. Replace this gasket if you notice condensation forming around the door, frost buildup inside the compartment, or if the refrigerator is running more frequently than normal due to air leaks.

Refrigerator door gaskets were cracked and moldy Allison O. • Sussex , NJ • June 29, 2019
I bought new gaskets, which were expensive! At least the repair was easy. Pulled out the old ones, pressed in the new ones. Had to redo them because I didn't notice the little flaps that need to be covering the space in the middle, between the doors. So, pulled them off, and turned them around, and pressed them on again. Maybe 10 minutes?

Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. The Fresh Food Door Gasket is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire refrigerators. It creates a seal around the refrigerator door to maintain a consistent temperature by keeping cold air in and warm air out. This helps ensure proper refrigerator conditions and prevents energy loss.
Over time, gaskets can degrade due to wear, exposure to extreme temperatures, or cleaning with harsh chemicals. A damaged or worn gasket may fail to seal properly, affecting the freezer's efficiency and potentially leading to increased energy consumption.
Symptoms of a bad gasket include:
- Frost or ice buildup inside the refrigerator
- Difficulty keeping the refrigerator door fully closed
- Warm air entering the refrigerator, causing temperature fluctuations
- Increased energy bills due to inefficient operation
This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.
NOTE: GASKET NOW GRAY, NOT WHITE

Used putty knife to tuck edge of gasket under lip along door. Reinstalled door. Take care to line up door perpendicularly. There is some play when...

Due to bad door seal ice built up in bottom of freezer water then leaking out Christopher K. • Alexandria , VA • July 19, 2016
Door gasket was easy to remove and reinstall. Original gasket was penetrated while cleaning food stuff from folds in the seal below the frig doors. (Gasket is very fragile so don't try to expand the folds while cleaning. I used my finger and a paper towel but in hindsight should have used a Q-Tip. Also, when installing the new gasket you have to be sure the seam folds over the edge of the door and doesn't get caught underneath.

Bad gasket / melted tray (my fault dishwasher) Donald T. • Stewartstown , PA • August 09, 2016
The tray was simple, pick up the old one, pop in the new one.
The gasket for my refrigerator was almost as easy. When I received the part I opened it up and let it lay flat for about 3 days (probably overkill). The old gasket popped right out and the new one went in really easy. The entire job took me about 10 minutes to do, no tools required. I do recommend that you start with corners and work your way to the middle of each side. I found that would prevent any stretching. You also need to...

Rubber seal/gasket was torn on our refrigerator Ken S. • Simi Valley , CA • November 23, 2021
The rubber seal/gasket was torn on our KitchenAid refrigerator right side door. I purchased the replacement and followed the directions/recommendations of how to prepare the new gasket for installation. When it's removed from the shipping box, it does have wrinkles and preparing it is a must. I set it out on our tile floor and then used a heat gun (low setting) to warm it up and massage it. It took me about 15 minutes, stopping and restarting as I let the rubber come back to it's desired shape....
