Got help from the internet to diagnose the problem. Seens that the neutral drain part of the transmission will not shift to spin unless there is a pause after draining. This screw and washer is an OEM replacement part used for Whirlpool washers. It is used to secure the lid switch. Each screw is sold individually. The screw measures approximately 1 inch.
After watching your repair video I disassembled my machine and replaced the broken switch with a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. I changed the brake shoes and the clutch assembly which also comes with the driver cam. I also changed the metal brake operating cam.
