If your LG Front load washers sounds like a freight train, STOP USING IT. You're doing more damage and will need more parts to fix it. After the noise became unbearable, I began to explore and disassemble. I knew enough to know the bearings must be bad but had never done this repair before. I drained the unit. Removed the front cover which is only held on by a couple of screws and the retainer ring that holds the rubber boot the seal for the door. But pretty straight forward after that. Just switch out the the the part its location is on the bottom lert. The case assembly is located under the top cover...the top cover os held down by 2 screws once out the cover slides of the part is on the left side just remove wires plugs and change out you only have to remove the screws holding... This lifter assembly moves clothes through the washer drum during the wash cycle, ensuring proper agitation and cleaning. It fixes issues with clothes tangling, poor washing results, or loud banging noises during operation.
Replaced all bearings, seals, springs, dampers and gaskets. After disassembly I was cleaning the gunk off the spider arm. I was seeing what looked like small stones in the clean out trap. Turns out it was small pieces of metal. Spider arm was being eaten and had holes in it so replaced that too. Bolts holding spider arm to the drum are secured with orange lock tight.
