Microwave won't turn on or is completely dead? A blown fuse is often the cause. This safety fuse protects against power surges. Easy 5-minute DIY fix.

There's nothing you can do to fix it. After replacing a simple fuse that I ordered from you, the Advantium is as good as new. It took a grand total of 5 minutes to make the repair. At the same time,... Read more
Connects microwave ventilation system to ductwork. Mounts at top or rear of unit. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing for proper airflow.
This damper was added to the outside vent duct line as an additional block against outside air intrusion. Under spousal orders I had just changed the microwave vent to the outside (the proper way to go, but much more difficult to accomplish) but then there was some "flowback" when the wind was pressing against the back of the house (westward facing), and I was ordered to reduce this flow before the winter arrived in full force. There is this same damper on the microwave unit itself, but I... Read more

Selector knob or dial stopped working? This encoder board translates rotary control input into signals. Moderate DIY repair requires control panel removal.
Replaced the "Encoder Board". My GE Advantium control panel came of fairly easily. There was 2 screws on top to remove a vent director giving access to a single screw that held the control panel in place. Once I removed that screw, I had to slide the control panel upwards by about 1/2" before it came off. At this point, I took several photographs of the wire connections to make sure I could reassemble them correctly... there were many! After unplugging the wire harnesses and connections, I...
