I replaced the motor and all other moving components along with the felt drum seals.drum glides and drive belt. The wiring instruction is where i had the most problems. Because my wiring had only 4 wires in the harness not 5, and one was a different color then the instructions call out, I believe was because it might have been and older model. the instruction called for a gray wire but mine was white with a blue piggy back wire attached. but after finding a few videos on line i figured that the... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Burners were leaking gas igniters didn't work   Christine B. • Meredith , NH • February 13, 2016

I removed the burners, which were rusted and needed some tapping. They were pretty stubborn to remove from the insert. I removed the spark igniters, which were rusted where they screwed into the burner and then removed the venturi tubes.. Once this was done, I installed the new igniters to the underside of the new burner. I then installed the burners, which only took simple placement and a quarter turn to lock them in. I then hooked up the igniter wire to the new spark igniters. The repair... Read more

Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 134101400

Dryer won't start or smells like burning? A melted or loose terminal block where the power cord connects is often the cause. Easy 20-minute repair.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Frigidaire front load dryer was beeping and i could not get display to go off it actually dried clothes fine but in middle of night the beeping would start unable to get error codes   Ronald B. • Haverhill , MA • September 11, 2015

Let me tell you that the videos made by AppliancePartsPros.com are what I needed most. They are simplified and complete. It turned out that because of a loose connection at the power terminal block, it over heated, melting the block and of course frying the wiring and distorting the connections. The erratic power supply must have damaged the control board. I ordered the terminal block and control board and although a little time consuming for a rookie, I got it working first time. I actually... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Making loud squealing sound when dryer was turned on   Michael M. • Plainfield , IL • November 19, 2018

Took the front panel off (the door front), disconnected the connector to the door switch and used a wooden clothespin to bypass the door switch. Turned on the dryer to locate loud squeaking sound and found it was coming from the motor area. When I started to take the blower section apart from the motor, that is when I saw the "blower wheel" slipped off the motor shaft. The blower wheel has a "C" clip retainer and compression ring to keep it snug on the motor shaft (but it was loose). Now I... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer timer would not turn and knob broke from the strain   Bruce B. • Birmingham , AL • October 17, 2014

I ordered the timer and knob on Monday, they arrived around noon on Tuesday, and within an hour I had them installed and back in business. I was amazed how quickly the parts got here. The online video showing the procedure step by step was very helpful. Instead of disconnecting all the wires and having to keep up with which one went where, I moved each wire one by one and made sure I didn't get any of them in the wrong place. The only thing that slowed me down a bit was seeing which side of the... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Frigidaire dryer feq332es0 stopped heating   Matthew G. • Palmyra , NY • February 21, 2015

First, let me tell you that this is the fifth appliance I've fixed with parts and help from AppliancePartsPros.com -- At this rate I'll never get to upgrade to nice new appliances. :-( When my wife said the dryer wasn't heating up, I looked online for common causes before I even headed to the basement. A lot of people talk about the fuses going bad, so I figured that's what it was. Next, I watched the videos on how to get to the internals of the dryer. (I hate it when I try to figure it out... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You It was taking unusually long to dry a typical load   Robert L. • Williamsburg , VA • November 15, 2014

I removed the front panel and observed the heating element while running the dryer. It was cycling off every minute or so and staying off for several minutes. Even though it was likely the high temp cycling thermostat I replaced both the 14, and 15 cycling thermostats which I think are the original factory units. That makes them nearly 35 years old. Problem fixed. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The timer had stopped advancing   William S. • Arlington , TX • April 03, 2017

With a Phillips screw driver, on the back of the control panel there was about 6 or 7 screws to undo, to take the cover off and 2 screws holding the timer in place. Just undone those, took out old timer, made sure I took wires from old timer one at a time, and, put on new timer. Put everything back, although I had to find a couple of very small washers to make the timer fit tight, in the 2 holes it came out of. Luckily I had those or would of been a very loose timer. Very easy to do. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer stopped heating   Mark L. • Parkersburg , WV • March 30, 2020

Our heating element had broken coils. Typed model number in to see which parts were likely to fix the problem. AppliancePartsPros told me exactly which parts to try. For the cost, it seemed the best decision was to order the complete Heating Element Assembly, rather than risk needing the two smaller parts as well. Decided to order new vent as well.
