Water leaking from the area proximate to the motor Nathan S. • Salt Lake City , UT • January 19, 2015
I reviewed the schematic and saw the Volute Seal, and Impeller Seal were the two that were closest my source of water. After watching the video about changing the Impeller/seal I removed the motor, impeller, and volute; I found that the impeller seal was the faulty one in my case. Since I'd ordered the volute and impeller seal kits (as I wasn't sure which it was) I installed both while I had it apart. Runs great, no water - simple to do. The seal changes took about 20 minutes. The only...

Leaking around dishwasher door previous repair missing parts Patrick R. • Peachtree City , GA • November 15, 2014
I ordered new seals from AppliancePartsPros.com. Finding the right seals was very easy, all based on model number of the appliance. While looking my unit over for other signs of wear, I noticed that a repair done by the prior homeowner to the lower wash arm was done improperly: a seal there was set protruding from the cover, the cover was missing screws, and the arm was missing the upper bushing. So I ordered a new seal, the missing screws, and both the top and bottom bushings (just to be...

Leaking sump housing Allen G. • Elkhorn , NE • January 15, 2016
I noticed the floor around the dishwasher was starting to get wet and warp the wooden floor. The chopper had gotten out of line and had cut a pinhole into the sump housing and the dishwasher was leaking badly. It was quite easy to repair. Just unhook the drain hose and the wire connectors, twist off the turbidity sensor and waste motor, pull out the shims and the whole assemple comes up and out. The hardest part was pulling the motor off of the assembly, since I wasn't sure if I needed to...

This replacement part is a dishwasher pump and motor assembly. The dishwasher pump and pump motor circulate water through the dishwasher's spray arm. When the spray arms aren't spraying properly, this could mean that it's time for a new pump and motor assembly. Luckily replacing this part is a relatively simple process.Start by making sure the dishwasher is unplugged. After that shut off the water supply going to the dishwasher. Then disconnect the drain line from the garbage disposal or sink drain. Open the dishwasher door and pull out the bottom dish rack. Remove the upper dishrack from its track. Release the spray arm on the bottom of the washer. Then proceed to release the feed tube clips. Using a nut driver remove the bottom access panel and tow panel. Pull them out to remove them. Remove the power cable from the junction box, and disconnect the supply line from the inlet valve. Proceed to pull the dishwasher out of the counter. Tilt the dishwasher on its side and pull the hose from the drain pump. Remove the wire harness from the pump. Disconnect wires from diverter motor and circulation motor. Once complete, proceed to tilt the dishwasher upright and remove the pump and motor assembly from the bottom of the dishwasher. Replace with the new assembly. This replacement part is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand dishwashers.

Whirlpool dishwasher makes loud buzzing noise when the motor/pump runs Stephen H. • Gainesville , FL • December 14, 2014
Checked the grinder/pump well at the bottom of the dishwasher and fished out some aluminum foil, wire twist ties, broken plastic forks, etc. That was fun but it didn't solve the problem.
Purchased new pump & motor assembly and installed it as per Youtube video. It requires pulling out the dishwasher, disconnecting electric, hotwater, and drain lines, and then removing a bunch of clips and connectors. That was time consuming but basically easy ... except that seating the new assembly gasket...

Our dishwasher would not start. Rory D. • Fairfield , CA • May 18, 2020
A bit of searching on the internet narrowed the problem down to either the heating element or the control board. As I am not much of a diagnostician I decided to replace both. Along this same line, I would never have attempted these repairs if it hadn't been for the clear, easy to understand repair videos provided for each part. Further, my decision to do my own repairs was made easier because the prices of the parts was so reasonable.
I took my time, reviewed the videos and replaced the...
