This is the complete detergent dispenser assembly for a dishwasher, responsible for holding and releasing detergent and rinse aid at the appropriate time during the wash cycle. It includes the dispenser housing, lid, and internal mechanisms. Replace this assembly if the dispenser door fails to open during the cycle, detergent is not dispensing properly, or the latch mechanism is broken or cracked.
Removing the door panel was easy -- remove 6 Torx screws, and the panel falls off. Next you need to remove an electrical plug and 2 individual wires from the old dispenser. The plug came right off, but the wires were not easy to access, and they fought me more than I expected. With some pliers and wiggling, they eventually let go and came free. The dispenser is held in place with 6 Phillips screws through 2 removable metal brackets, and those came out easily. The toughest part of the job... Read more

This is the longer of the two dispenser lid hinge pins. For the shorter lid hinge pin order WPY912679.
The foam was shot on the detergent cup lid. Hard as a rock. Causing caking problems, dribble down the inside wall of the door and leaving lumps of detergent. Cut the door in half wit aviation snips and pulled out the two halves. Discovered at this point that the spring had gone soft. Bought one ahead of time, so I was set. Put the spring on the left pin, put the spring pin in the door, slipped the door into place (open) and put the right pin in with pliers. Door snaps open now. Read more

Organizes and supports dishes during wash cycles. Replace if cracked, rusted, missing tines, or coating is flaking. Restores smooth loading function.
Kitchen Aid dishwasher is 11 years old, and the tines have been rusting and biting the dust one by over the last few years. Rather than further destroy my dishes by abrading them with rust particles, I decided to get new racks. They are terribly expensive, and I pondered getting a new dishwasher. It wouldn't be that much more expensive. But I love mine and how well it washes. It has a stainless interior, and all of the seals are in excellent shape. I didn't need any tools. (Although I'm a... This sensor monitors the water temperature inside your dishwasher during wash cycles. It sends temperature readings to the control board to ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing. Replace it if your dishes aren't getting clean, water stays cold, or you see error codes related to temperature.
The model number on the dishwasher did not have a -0000 or -0001 on the end of the model number so I bought the part for both models. I assume if yours doesn't have it, then it is the -0000 model like mine, which of course means the more expensive part. You can always buy both and return the one you don't need. Replacing the temperature sensor was fairly simple - disconnect power and water, pull the right-side panel off, move the noise filter out of the way, turn the sensor a quarter turn... Read more
