Being a complete DIY I hate to call some unknown person into my home knowing that just to get them there will cost me more than I will spend for parts that I don't need. After all, they are trying to make a living and by selling me parts that I don't need will increase their profits. I've dealt with APP before and was impressed by their site because I could find both mechanical and electrical drawings for almost everything I have. I looked up my dryer, decided what was probably the problem,... Read more
The Lint Filter is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This component is crucial for trapping lint and debris that come off clothes during the drying process. This adhesive is specifically formulated to withstand high temperatures and is used in various repair applications within appliances such as ovens, ranges, and dryers. The 1-ounce tube contains adhesive formulated to withstand the extreme heat inside dryer drums and cabinets
Causes of a bad adhesive can include exposure to extremely high temperatures over extended periods, contamination by dirt or grease, or the natural aging and drying out of the adhesive.
Symptoms of a bad high temperature adhesive include:
I'm new to how a dryer works, so I just started taking it apart to see what exactly was causing it. The video examples on the APP website were all amazing. It gave me a good idea of what I was getting into and showed me the common repair issues. The dryer being 12 years old, I was on the fence about repairing or replacing. However, once I got a list of parts I might need and getting the confidence by watching the videos, I said "what have I got to lose." The cause of the scraping and loud... Read more
