Dishwasher not filling with water or filling too slowly? The water inlet valve controls water flow into the tub. DIY-friendly repair with video guide.
I figured it was the valve, but searching on the Appliance Parts site, somebody said they fixed it by replacing the switch flood assembly. So I order both parts. The Switch Flood Assembly was easiest to replace, so I decided to try that first. When I pulled out the old assembly, I noticed it did not 'rattle', as the new one did. So, there is apparently a float ball that had gotten stuck. I put the new one in and poof.. it worked. The only update to the instructions is a reminder that the... Read more
Dishwasher detergent dispenser won't open or latch? This module controls soap release during wash cycles. Moderate DIY repair—30 minutes, door removal.
Tried CLR to remove hard water deposits. That did not help. Ordered new dispenser. The GE series that the detergent module fits in was a little difficult to open. Finally found a video explaining the whole door had to come off in order to open it up to replace the module. Works great now. Read more
Fix dishwasher not filling or H2O error codes with this water inlet valve assembly. Controls water flow into tub. Moderate DIY repair, about 1 hour.
It was one of 3 things basically, motherboard, pressure sensor or fill valve. I tried cleaning the pressure sensor to no avail. I proceeded to replace both the valve and the sensor because the parts were very inexpensive and the cost of a motherboard wasn't worth it. I completed the repair in about 1 hour and have ran it twice without incident . Read more
The Heating Element is an OEM replacement part for GE dishwashers. It is responsible for heating the water during wash cycles and assisting in drying dishes at the end of the cycle. The heating element ensures optimal cleaning and drying performance by raising the water temperature and promoting evaporation.
Over time, heating elements can fail due to wear, mineral buildup, or electrical issues. A malfunctioning element may result in poor cleaning or drying performance.
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
I replaced the heating element and it solved the problem. It was very easy to replace. Read more
Fix a dishwasher with no lights on the control panel or buttons that won't respond. This user interface board controls cycle selection and display.
GE Dishwasher would beep intermittently over the course of about a month. It then began to shut itself off. I would have to reset the breaker to get it to come on. Eventually, it stopped working altogether. After confirming that I did in fact have proper power to the appliance. The main control board had power and was in good shape. I then traced the problem to being a bad UI board. Which I found with the help of a nice lady over the phone at AppliancePartsPros.com. Read more

The Door Latch Strike is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. It ensures the dishwasher door latches securely, allowing the appliance to operate only when the door is properly closed.

Symptoms of a bad door latch strike include:
Based on our research, the dishwasher latch was one of the most common causes for our model of dishwasher malfunctioning. We purchased this replacement unit, and thanks to the help provided via videos and diagrams, my wife and I were able to very easily install the new latch. My first thought was to take the dishwasher to the dump when I saw the pack rats ate the wiring while it was in storage. However, it was only a couple years old so just out of curiosity I looked at the appliance parts pros website and was pleasantly surprised that I could replace every wiring harness on my GE dishwasher for under $100. That is a lot of wire. The process to replace the wiring was nearly effortless. The new harnesses were identical to the old so all I had to do was find the 2... Read more
