Very smooth. I ordered the door and the control panel. It is helpful to have an extra set of hands when removing the screws from the door or place something under it so it doesn’t drop. The door comes off with about 10 screws. They are different length. Short screws go into steel, long go into plastic. Remove the door and upper facia/control panel. I ordered door seal and bottom strip seal: GASKET TUB PLASTIC Number: WD08X22094 GASKET BEACH PLASTIC: WD08X21894 I had done this once previously and removed the door. That was not too bad but trying to put the door back on the hinges by myself was a bit of work. First diagnosed the problem by viewing several Youtube videos. Then ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros. After the part arrived I again referenced the best video - several times - and finally made the repair swapping out bad mother board with the new one from AppliancePartsPros. Saved me hundreds. Removed kick plate , slowly took my time to diagnose area where intermittent noise coming from sump area. Could feel when the circulation pump was running it was quiet. When the drain cycle occurred the noise momentarily began. Ordered a drain pump. After removing the old one I discovered a broken tooth pick in the drain impeller area. Replaced the drain pump anyway. All is quiet!! Read more

Our GE was installed about 8 years ago and was AWESOME for much of its early life. However, progressively its cleaning ability diminished. By replacing all the spray arms (clogged with debris), filters, drain hose, and sump...this dishwasher cleans like it did when it was new! Cost was around $100 (also replaced a wheel and the silverware basket) and labor was relatively simple. And to think...my mother-in-law said, "Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a new one?!?". It was one of 3 things basically, motherboard, pressure sensor or fill valve. I tried cleaning the pressure sensor to no avail. I proceeded to replace both the valve and the sensor because the parts were very inexpensive and the cost of a motherboard wasn't worth it. I realized that they also had the gasket that goes around the door and remembered that it leaks sometimes, so I put that in my cart as well. My wife reminded me that the hinge on the right side was rusty so I added that to my cart.
