The Lid Assembly is an OEM part for GE washing machines. This part is the lid of the washer. It is essential for securely covering the washer drum, preventing water from splashing out during the wash cycle, and allowing safe operation by ensuring the washer does not run with the lid open. Replaced the shaft & mode shifter assembly. Also replaced the pulley as it had taken some damage from the wobbling clutch dog. And replaced the tub seal since it's normally inaccessible with the shaft in place. This is an advanced repair that took a lot of time. Removing the tub nut took a 1 11/16" socket and a 700 ft-lb impact wrench and I had to hammer on the nut for several minutes to break it free of the tub. Disassembly of the washer is complete, and requires a lot of space for... Read more

This locking clip secures a mating part—often a control knob—onto its shaft on select laundry appliances. Replacing a worn or missing clip restores a tight fit so controls stay in place and operate as intended during use.
Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. As this fix is near a complete tear-down of the washing machine, here are a few tips I discovered. 1) the hub nut is difficult to remove and you need a... Read more

The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting. Since fridge was 17 years old I decided to order the entire evaporator fan assembly as shown in the parts diagram including fan blade, motor brackets, motor, motor mounts, screws, etc. Getting to the assembly involved removing the ice maker unit plus the entire rear inside of the freezer section. Parts cost around... Read more

This tub assembly replaces a cracked or leaking wash tub to restore proper water containment and drum support for your washer, helping reduce leaks, rubbing noises, and abnormal vibration during cycles. What it does:
I ordered a new mode selector and new tub bearing. Upon disassembly, I noticed that the plastic outer tub had actually heated up around the tub bearing and tub seal area, such that the new tub seal did not fit tightly. I ordered a replacement outer tub, and reassembled all the new parts. During assembly, I installed the new tub seal upside down, but recognized it while re-watching the how-to video. I pulled the assembly back off and flipped the seal over, then reassembled it again. I also put... Read more
