After researching on the APP site, I decided what I thought I would need and purchased a new Gasket, Gasket Insert, Left & Right Corner Baffles from APP. The parts were shipped immediately. However, I’m an 80 yr. old female so I procrastinated for almost 6 weeks before deciding to 'tackle' the repair myself rather than hiring an appliance repair person or "handyman". I went back into the AppliancePartsPros site and reviewed the wonderful videos related to the repair since Matt had made it... Read more

Seals dishwasher door to prevent leaks during wash cycles. Replace if worn, torn, or causing water leakage. Press-fit installation, no glue needed.
My wife is attached to her old, simple, no bells and whistles dishwasher. When it started leaking from the bottom of the door, I looked up the possible fix and thought the price of the gasket probably out-valued the dishwasher. I thought that it was time to buy a new one. After looking at the prices of dishwashers (even with a Memorial Day sale) I was shocked at high they have gotten. The price of the gasket, which isn't even a third of the price of a bottom of the line DW, was looking even... Read more

The full story: Dishwasher stopped running mid-cycle. When I first began troubleshooting I tried manually advancing the timer knob, and the machine would run. That led me to believe that the actual timer assembly was bad, so I replaced it. The dishwasher ran fine for a day, and then the same problem came back. This time, however, I also had to push in on the door to get it to run. I looked around online, and someone suggested that the door latch wasn't closing tightly enough. I adjusted the... Read more

About a year ago my dishwasher during a cycle was emitting a horrible plastic burning smell. We stopped it mid-cycle, cleaned it out and tried to run a few more cycles after that and realized it wouldn't drain so it sat in my kitchen broken for a year. Removing the bottom panel and watching the internals while the washer was running revealed a small drip from what appeared to be a plastic cam that was attached to a solenoid. The water was dripping from the shaft the cam attached to down into the solenoid. Being a DIY guy I pulled the washer out, turned it upside down and inspected the effected mechanism. It appeared that there was a seal on the shaft that was leaking. The water leaking into the solenoid caused it to rust and stick. A quick... Read more
