Charles L Raleigh , NC July 19, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDWT480P00SS Dishwasher would not fill with very much water and dishes did not come out cleaner than they went in Checked flood switch with a meter and it was ok. Water inlet valve not fully opening is the other common reason for low water level and it is a simple and cheap fix, so I just did it. It did fix the problem. I replaced bent door hinges at the same time from when a kid fell on the open door and both repairs went well and solved the problems. Note that most of the assemblies in this dishwasher have thread cutting screws and the holes in the new replacement parts are not threaded. It is sometimes easier to drive the screws in to cut the threads before trying to reassemble the parts in tight spaces.
