If your dishwasher won't start or the door won't lock, the door latch assembly is likely failed. DIY-friendly repair takes about 30 minutes to replace.
With the power to the dishwasher on, I removed the six or seven screws holding the door panel together. With the door separated, I manually moved the switch which should close when the dishwasher latch closes. This illuminated and activated the control panel telling me that the problem was in the door latch. I purchased a new latch from appliance parts pros and installed it. Very easy fix for a homeowner, taking thirty minutes. Read more
Dispenser won't close or stay shut? This dishwasher detergent cup cover securely latches to prevent mid-cycle opening. Moderate DIY repair, 1 hour.
Although I ordered the latch, lever and a new cup and replace the original pieces the dispenser still did not close. On further inspection it turned out to be a small spring that had fallen out of place. Once the spring was reconnected the dispensing cover worked fine. I'm still happy that I replaced the entire assembly with new parts regardless. Discovering the loose spring took the most time. Read more
Replacement spring for dishwasher detergent cup door assembly. Provides tension to keep cup door latched closed. Replace if broken, stretched, or lost.
First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. After turning off the power to the dishwasher, I removed the switch cover (not obvious how -- a video would help: on the left, I slid the narrow rectangular plastic wire cover a little to one side and gently opened it on its little hinge, which is near the left side of the door, and then... In the How to fix it your self section of Questions and Answers, your answers for removing the Base Spray Arm is incorrect. Replaces cracked, kinked, or chewed drain hose that carries wastewater from your dishwasher to household plumbing. Essential for proper drainage function.
I replaced the pump drain assembly. The flapper valve was included in the assembly, so I did not need to order that. Fixes spotty dishes and rinse aid leaks. This reservoir holds and releases rinse agent during the final cycle. Quick DIY repair with video guide.
Repair parts arrived super fast. Installed the new parts according to the supplied instructions. All went well. It took over 2 hours because the unit had to be removed after the water and power were disconnected and then the initial problem diagnosed (motor brushes worn beyond service limits). The removal of the spray bar tower assembly was a challenge until it was discovered that the tower unscrews in a CW direction from the bar that then allowed access to the attachment screw that holds that... Secures the dishwasher heating element to the tub from underneath. Replace if cracked, stripped, or missing to prevent leaks at the element mounting point.
First, I took the whole thing apart and cleaned every spot...the main culprit seemed to be the float. It was pretty gunked up and seemed to be not working...after a good cleaning it was fine...but once I pulled the unit out and checked underneath I noticed the heating element was loose, leaking, and had burnt off the blade connecting ire. So I promptly bought this replacement, installed it in about 5 minutes, did a clean cycle, and shes back to normal...I love AppliancePartsPros.com, and use... Read more
Replacement slide rail for dishwasher upper rack. Installs on cabinet wall to guide rack in and out. Needed when original is bent, twisted, or broken.
Dishwasher needed new wheel that mounted to upper rack. There are 4 total that make the rack roll in and out. Replaced both side rails and rail caps (4- only 50 cents each) along with new upper rack that came with wheels installed. One side rail was bent so decided to spend a little extra and replace both. Might of been able to replace just one broken rack wheel but rack was old and was rusting in some areas so decided to just replace it. Read more

Removed and cleaned plastic filter strainers (located in the bottom rear of the dish compartment) that was packed with sediment. In doing so I found the filter gasket assembly badly deteriorating (rubber coming apart with the simplest of touch). While trying to remove the filter gasket, I broke the lower spray arm assembly due to the plastic being brittle. (Unit is over 10 years old!) Then, while ordering parts, I read that the Piston & Nut assembly is the typical cause of the condition I was... Read more
