This is a 25 year old built-in over-the-range appliance. Only previous problem was 1 failed door switch (of 3 total), replaced 2 years ago. Secures microwave components and mounting brackets. Replace this hardware assembly if screws are stripped, bolts are missing, or fasteners are damaged.
Removed the dozen or so screws on the microwave cabinet housing (top & 2 sides). Removed the 2 screws from the assembly holder hut bracket and replaced the assembly holder nut with a new one and re-installed the 2 screws. Re-installed the dozen or so screws on the cabinet. Finally re-installed the microwave with the 2 new 3-7/8'" long bolts thru the kitchen cabinet. Read more

Unplug your microwave. Took the screws off of the bottom of the unit with it still on the cabinet. The whole bottom panel swung down to expose the turntable motor. I took the power cable loose (just pull it off). It was one screw to take the motor out. Word to the wise: DON'T try to take the plastic coupler off before the motor.
