Door latch broke also causing the fuse to blow James M. • Ocean View , NJ • April 28, 2017
It is difficult (if not impossible) to remove the electronic switches from the hard
plastic latches. I replaced all three switches and both the upper and lower latches I also replaced the main 20 amp ceramic fuse which blew out when the latch/switches failed.

We purchased a discounted microwave it was not fully equipped with its accessories Paul C. • Roseville , CA • September 16, 2018
I have used appliance parts pros before, their website is easy to use. I typed in the model and serial numbers, of course the number I have is rare, It did not show up on the list of models. It made me a little hesitant to submit the order. All three products came in the same box and on the same date it was promised. Just after opening the package I put everything in the microwave and I was relieved when everything fit perfectly.

The turntable in the microwave stopped going around. David J. • Happy Valley , OR • November 20, 2017
Very easy fix. Unplugged microwave, then lowered bottom panel, removed the two leads to the turntable motor, removed two screws attached to motor, removed old motor, put new spacer on motor stem, installed motor with same two screws, reattached the two wires, reattached panel ( after cleaning all the grease that built up over the last 6 years), plugged microwave in and good as new! Took me twenty minutes. Note: the two screws holding the motor were not Phillips like those holding the panel. So...

Replacing a magnetron in my particular 9-year-old microwave (a microwave/hood combination) was not a simple “plug & play” operation. That is why I am placing this in the slightly difficult area. First, it takes 2 people to remove the microwave from the top of the stove. Next the main outer panel need to be removed. After that, 2 sheet metal panels need to be removed in order to expose the high voltage components for testing.

My microwave vent grill kept falling on my head when i opened my microwave Christopher D. • Kernersville , NC • February 23, 2015
Well, I gotta say I was happy to find you still had parts for almost 20 year old microwaves. The microwave itself worked fine, so I hated to have to buy a new one, but I just couldn't take being hit in the head anymore; and my fix of using string and wire to tie it to the surrounding cabinets was unsightly to say the least. I'm glad I did some research and found this part - all I had to do was pop it in place and now the vent grill is secure. Problem solved with minimal cost.

Microwave turntable motor overheated and melted tray coupler Terry H. • Columbia , MO • May 31, 2018

The removal of the bottom plate was held in place by several phillips screws. The motor was attached with two torx screws. The electric connection clips to the motor required needle nose pliers to pull them off. The tray coupler was simple to install after the motor was secured and bottom plate was replaced..

Open/close door error message Whirlpool WMH53520CS 5 microwave would not turn on John T. • Merrimac , MA • January 14, 2019
Replaced lower door interlock bracket, cam(which was redesigned), spring(I believe this was the problem) and switch. When the door opens the spring moves the cam which releases the switch"on" Button which turns on the interior light when you close the door, the latch which protrudes out from door pushes into the cam which rotates to turn off the light switch and enables operation of the microwave. Old design cam would push past the light switch and the weakened spring would not push it back...

Microwave not heating or making loud humming noise? The high-voltage capacitor supplies power to the magnetron. DIY repair in under an hour.
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
My microwave was working at half power Eric H. • Tonawanda , NY • October 30, 2015
I ordered a new magnetron and a new capacitor and after they arrived I set to work. I took plenty of pictures with my phone to remind me how the components came apart but it was pretty straight forward. Once the new parts were in and everything was reassembled the microwave worked good as new. The repair was less than a third the cost of replacement and no special tools are required. Just be careful to discharge the capacitor. This website is a great resource.
