Every diy homeowners worst nemasis ice makers Marty C. • Howard , OH • March 31, 2026
I first ordered a new basket because the old one would not seat properly. I had already replaced the ice maker a year ago. That didn't solve it . Everything kept icing up and the thing would quit. I'm a "keep replacing stuff until it works guy" so I ordered a new base assembly and gaskets for the drive motor and it works like new. As a side note, these guys are so fast in shipping they would make Amazon nervous. Great company!!

Ice maker auger quit turning. Torance H. • Citrus Spgs , FL • March 02, 2020
Remove and replaced the auger motor, shaft seal, and the chute seal. No problem. However, the causing failure was to broken wire on the bottom of the freezer door. Loom and blue wire were cut, due to being pinched. I had current to start with and the auger worked three times then quit. That's when I really had to start searching . Fun.

The crisper face plate separated from the basket due to a failure of the basket Nick M. • Azusa , CA • October 26, 2018
I purchased replacement parts to completely replace basket, face plate, and rollers. I received exactly what I ordered. The only problem I had was removing the part(s) from the shipping box. I thought the part came assembled (as rollers had been installed onto the basket), but the face plate had not been snapped into place. When I removed everything from the shipping box as one piece, the face plate fell off, hit the tile floor, and cracked. Bummer. Since the original face plate was in good...

Fresh food section(top half) was not cooling. Luis F. • Hawthorne , CA • April 20, 2021
Checked and found the evaporator frozen causing the fan to stop working. Took the interior panels off and applied a blow dryer to the ice, once the ice melted I cut the tabs on the grommet holding the fan since everything is thin plastic and replaced the grommet and fan. Placed everything back and found no further issues. Tools I used were a small flat head screwdriver to pry the panels off and a 1/4 socket to remove the center drawer (4), water filter cover (2), and the ice maker (2). Not too...

The Reservoir is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It is designed to store and dispense water within the refrigerator, typically connecting to the water dispenser and ice maker. Causes of a bad reservoir can include mineral buildup from hard water, cracks or leaks due to wear and tear, or contamination from foreign particles.
Symptoms of a bad reservoir include:
- Water leaks inside the refrigerator
- Reduced or no water flow to the dispenser or ice maker
- Odd tastes or odors in the water
- Ice production issues
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Water was leaking from the upper part of the refrigerator into the refrigerator compartment Floyd S. • Waipahu , HI • October 17, 2015
The storage device for water had a cracked fitting so when either the water or ice solenoid was activated the water ran into the compartment. I replaced the storage device (reservoir) once I figured out how to remove the upper cover in the top of the refrigerator. I needed to remove two screws located by the water filter these are the only fasterners needed to be removed, after that you need to pry down on the entire cover which is snapped in place, disconned the electrical connections and your...
