However, due to the disassembly involved to get to it, I decide to also change a couple of other parts involved in the defrost process, which are also located in the same compartment as the defrost thermostat. • Ice maker won't dispense ice

I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. The auger would not turn the dispenser because the screw threads were stripped. I could not re-thread it so I had to replace the entire motor assembly. It was not looking good. I could not order the part I needed as it was part of the door - eve though it had screws att Hong it to the freezer door. At one web site it was a replacement of the whole freezer door!/? Luckily I ventured further and found this repair kit and video instructions.
