The Gear is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool stand mixers. Located inside the mixer head assembly, it transfers torque from the motor into rotary spinning of mixing attachments. Thorough blending and kneading depend on dependable gear movement.
Causes of gear failure include wear from extended use breaking down teeth, accumulated residue gumming up meshing parts, or impacts damaging vital cogs.
Symptoms include:
- Attachments failing to spin or rotating unevenly
- Grating sounds emanating from within the mixer
- Ingredients not fully incorporated as intended
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.
