The Defrost Heater is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool French door refrigerators. It is an electric heating element strategically placed within the refrigerator compartment and freezer liners. This component aids in preventing excessive moisture buildup from condensation formed during normal operation.

Removed the handle with two screws on the inside front and pulled out the custom wood panel. Pulled the compactor out from under cabinet. Tipped it over on back of unit, supporting it with a little foot stool. Watched the video on how to replace. Ordered new roller, which was delivered in just a couple of days. Since the roller had broke, I was unable to roll out the refrigerator, so I tilted the refrigerator back and placed a small furniture slider under the roller frame to prevent gouging the wood floor.
