Whirlpool 2188450A Refrigerator Door Gasket (Fresh Food) OEM Part

Ordered new door seals (gaskets) from Appliance Parts Pros. I was able to replace the freezer door seal without taking the door off the refrigerator. (Note: this is an over/under type refrigerator, with the freezer section on top) However, the first attempt at replacing the refrigerator door seal without removing the door from the fridge did not go well as the door appeared "warped" after I reassembled it and would not come close to sealing when I closed it. When I took the door off the fridge and laid it on a flat surface (table) to replace the gasket and reinstalled the door, it closed and sealed perfectly. It was also much easier to access the bolts that secure the inner door and the seal, and to align the seal, with the door removed from the unit. Not a difficult job at all.

Ordered gasket which arrived as promised. In the meantime, the door started to close like to it normally does. We discovered the refrigerator door, not completely shut, with no apparent obstruction. Over next several days had to emphasize that door was closed by applying additional pressure. Door just seemed to open very easily. Was the magnetic strip getting weak? However, while waiting for the gasket to arrive, opening the door seemed to go back to what it used to feel like. Since everything appears to be back to normal, requested a return. No hassle, and it was very easy to print the return information and shipping label. Returned via UPS ($20.45). Hopefully, I don't have to reorder in the future. You were a great help. I have no qualms replacing the gasket after watching the video and my $30 out of pocket shipping expense was well worth it.

Installed a new gasket/door; vacuumed the tube under the refrigerator and in the back.

Watched your video to get a general idea of what to do. The old element did not pull out easily but I put more force to pulling it out of the back wall and the wire connectors finally came out into view. I needed to use needle nose pliers because they were stuck to the element.After that putting it all back in place was a snap. You need to heat oven to remove an oil smell for a bit before cooking.
