Put on the two new parts that stop the dishwasher door from going too far down when you opened it allowing the racks holding what had just been washed to come very close to falling out on the floor. 1. To fix the leaks from around the door, I replaced the upper and lower door seals. These were purchased in a separate transcation, so they are not the parts shown here. The upper door seal worked as intended, but the lower seal would not stay in place on the lower edge of the door during a wash. Therefore I cleaned the grease and detergent off the old seal, and installed using silicone sealer/adhesive. The plastic edge pieces for the lower seal were supplied with the kit, and they installed... Read more

Replacement spring kit that restores tension and balance to dishwasher doors. Use when springs are broken, worn, or missing, causing door sag or noise.
One of the two springs on our 25-year-old dishwasher broke with a loud "bang" five days ago. This is an easy fix, involving the removal of only the bottom access panel (two screws). This makes the door MUCH heavier than normal, and so the door springs are not stock, but are heavy-duty. I didn't know what springs to buy. Fortunately, Appliance Parts Pros has a forum where experts provide advice.... Read more

Door slams shut or won't stay open? Replace the tension spring to restore proper door balance. Easy DIY repair—most complete it in under 30 minutes.
I removed the lower door panel and kickplate (4 screws) to access the door springs. Replaced the door springs by hand. The nylon guides, through which the door guides travel, were easy to replace. I removed the broken ones and snapped in the new ones. I recommend a drop of epoxy on the upper portion of each guide to keep it from shifting. The impact on the door apparently distorted the frame slightly so the door drops slightly below level when fully opened and the lower rack movement is impeded... Read more
