Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit. The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual. This is a rubber gasket that seals around the door vent opening on a dishwasher, preventing steam and moisture from escaping into areas where they can cause damage. It fits between the vent assembly and the inner door panel. Replace this gasket if you notice moisture or steam leaking from around the vent area, water dripping down the front of the door, or if the gasket appears cracked, warped, or deteriorated.
We had a repair man come and inspect the unit (Independent). He said he would get the part and get back with us. Almost 8 weeks past, with many calls to the service for an update.
