Maytag Dishwasher (about 5 years old). Some of the buttons had stopped functioning. Then the Start button began choosing whether or not to work. Eventually it would not start at all. Upon removing the control panel, the first thing I noticed was that the brackets that hold the two lower screws were broken. (So this was the reason that the door was so hard to open from the time it was new.) I trouble shot the thermal fuse, the door-latch switches, and inspected the control board trying to find... Replace missing, stripped, or damaged #8 torx screws used to secure dishwasher components like pump assemblies, covers, and internal mounting brackets.
While at my sister's house, she showed me how to access & dismantle the housing unit on her dishwasher, thinking the issue might be from that area. So, when I came home, I opened up my housing unit and found that several of the screws had come out and the pump outlet seal was stretched out and partially outside of the unit itself. I located all of the missing screws & discovered I was still missing one, which my husband helped me order with the pump outlet seal. I easily replaced the old seal... Read more

Kick plate was easy; screw holes in the wrong place, but used double-sided tape instead and worked great. Didn't need the extra screws ordered; it came with them. The roller spindles should be sent with a packet of grease. When replaced, the door was even louder than previous. Used candle wax on the spindles and it's quiet as can be now. Read more
Drain hose connects dishwasher pump to exterior drain. Replace if cracked, leaking, chewed by rodents, or when check valve fails. Includes elbow connector.
I figured out that it was probably a plugged pump hose, since the pump would run, it somtimes it drained and sometimes it didn't. Your video helped with how to take the dishwasher out and replace the hose. I replaced the hose and everything is now working fine. It turned out to be a broken check valve in the old hose that caused the problem. It took 90 mins to do the repair. Read more

Fix dishwasher overflows and leaks with a new float assembly. Controls water level to prevent overfilling. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit. The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual. The Float Switch Kit (attached to, and below the float, below and outside the tank) has a folding plastic cover which fastens with plastic clips. If you open the switch kit before removing the... Gray plastic pivot clip for dishwasher upper rack tine rows. Replaces broken, cracked, or missing pivots that prevent tines from adjusting properly.
With the basket out of the dishwasher, the plastic parts basically snap on and off... popped the broken parts off and the new parts on. The 2 wheel and mount assemblies were a little more complicated. The video on the website advises to disconnect the supply line and drain line... I didn't have to do this. I just pulled the dishwasher out of its cabinet a little over a foot and removed the 2 screws holding each assembly in place and removed them. The previous gaskets (2 PER ASSEMBLY)... Read more
