I first checked to make sure the washer was level. The washer is on a concrete floor. After watching lots of you tube videos I ordered all the parts that could be causing this problem. I ordered: Balance Ring, Suspension Pad Kit (3 rectangle plastic wear pads), Tub Suspension Pads(3 curved plastic wear pads), Suspension Spring, and a Spanner Wrench tool. Simply lift up the old filter and cap and discard it. The new assembly simply pushes down and on to the agitator base. It stays in place by clicking over a raised perimeter rib on the base. This is the easiest repair (short of screwing in a light bulb) that one could do. The hardest part was to identify which parts I needed to purchase. I took it apart and cleaned and lubricated the rear support rollers and the belt pulley roller. I think the squealing was coming from the pulley roller. I then replaced the rear felt as it was badly deteriorated. The dryer now runs much more smoothly and quietly. Read more

I read the FAQ section of Appliance Pros parts web site. I found out I needed to replace the temperature control switch, WPW10248240, to correct my problem. This switch also controls the tub filling water level based on air pressure via the attached vinyl tubing. I undid the top with a putty knife, took out two screws and took off the front. I replaced the drum rollers and put the new belt on the drum, looped the belt on the idler and then onto the motor pulley. I also put on two new top hold down clips as the old ones broke because they were plastic, the new ones were metal. I took off the back panel and replaced the heating element. Replaced the cheap plastic lever supporter with another LG OEM cheap plastic lever supporter. I should have bought two as I can see this problem happening again. Job was a simple fix and only required a Phillips head screwdriver. I did not need to remove any connections as there was enough room and wire to pull out the oven control assembly and make the repair. I googled the problem and was given ideas on what the problem may be. I had already replaced the heating element and so I started with what I thought might be the obvious, the switch. I pulled it out and saw what looked like burning on one of the terminals, so I took the back cover off the switch and the inside of the switch was burned. Read more
