This is a Whirlpool washer control board. This is the main control board behind the user interface, not to be confused with the motor control board located within the body of the washer. This part controls the main functions of the washer and toggles between different cycles. Certain functions may become unavailable intermittently when the main control board loses function. The washer may also continue to spin, not following the regular timeline of the cycle.Start the repair by pulling the control knob from the front of the washer. Pull the washer out from the wall to access the rear panel. Remove the screws from the back panel, and push back on the control panel while sliding a flat head under the right corner to release the mounting clip. Repeat this on the left side, and the central console should pull free. Release the clips for the wire harness and remove the air hose from the control board. Remove the mounting screws and pull the control board from its protective console. Reverse this process to install the new component. This product is a genuine OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. This part is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, and JennAir appliances.

I then noticed the mount it attached to had worn through. Further checking revealed the spring too was almost worn through. I then checked the spring and mount on the left side and it too was in bad shape. I ordered a pair of springs and mounts from Appliance Pros in the afternoon and they were shipped the... Read more
