There are just two phillip head screws that hold it in place. There are also a couple of pronged metal sensors that pop out/in place. When I was cleaning the area before replacing the grille I accidentally bumped the electric clip for the sensors and it fell back into the dryer. I was able to bend a coat hanger to retrieve the wires. Other than that it was a very simple procedure. Read more

This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

• Door won't close

I chatted with a rep on Appliance Parts Pros and found out which parts I needed for my model of dryer. Ordered the 2 clips that held the door closed. They arrived the next day!! My dryer was very different than the video but we were able to figure out which screws to remove. The old clips popped out and the new ones popped in. First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. Then I used that information to open the dryer, diagnosing the fact that the roller on the drum belt tension arm had broken and actually fallen off the arm. Replaced the idler pulley and belt. Difficult because no exact youtube video for a Maytag Bravo XL dryer. Had to remove all back and front covers in order to tilt the dryer top and replace the belt.
