So this is a poor design in the first case. Not having a center support in the back almost guarantees a failure there eventually. I kludged together a support in my original more than a year ago, but finally the part broke too bad to limp along with anymore. This is the part I needed. I had a slow leak at the water inlet valve where the water line from the filter assembly connected to the water inlet valve. I determine that the water line had scratches in it which caused it to not seal. Had to buy the entire reservoir and filter assembly to get that water line. The replacement was smooth. It took about 30 minutes to swap out and it fixed the leak. Read more

I ordered a new solenoid valve set and watched the online video of the replacement process. So after emptying my freezer and fridge, removing the doors and freezer drawer, so I could mover the fridge out of its cove, I discovered after taking the panels off the rear, that my fridge is different than that shown in the video. The manual had instructions for pulling things apart, the flaps over the drawer tops and the clear plastic inserts in the shelf. Flaps--Easiest to work with when the shelf is out and upside down. Slide flaps to the side a little to release the axle pin on the flaps from the receptacle hole on the shelf frame. Clear plastic plates are held in with a plastic pin on the side of the shelf frame. I bought the listed condenser fan motor for my Maytag refrigerator. Access to the condenser fan is by removing sheet metal screws of bottom panel with 1/4 in. nut driver. Condenser fan is on left side of rear access area. Remove electrical connector by pressing-in connector release tab with thumb fingernail and pulling on connector. I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

Although I only needed to replace the drawer support (end cap) on the right side the kit comes with replacements for both sides. I was surprised to see that the air flow adjustment mechanism that is located on the right side end cap was not included. I should mention that I did not disassemble the drawer mechanisms before ordering the end cap(s). The kit contained only the two molded end caps - no fasteners, mechanisms, or anything else. I pulled the refrigerator out, removed the back panel, disconnected the fan motor. I did not know how hard or easy it would be to remove the fan from the motor shaft so I removed the motor with the fan attached and then removed and replaced the fan. Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy.
