Fix a wobbly or noisy turntable with this microwave support ring. Replaces cracked or missing rings causing bumping sounds. Easy DIY install.
I have used appliance parts pros before, their website is easy to use. I typed in the model and serial numbers, of course the number I have is rare, It did not show up on the list of models. It made me a little hesitant to submit the order. All three products came in the same box and on the same date it was promised. Just after opening the package I put everything in the microwave and I was relieved when everything fit perfectly. Read more
Microwave won't start or shows door error? This door switch signals when the door is closed so power flows to the magnetron. Moderate DIY repair, 30-45 min.
I'm a 56 year old divorced woman. I started doing these kinds of repairs to save some money and honestly, to see if I could. So yes, if I can do it, it's not that tough to do. My microwave is built in above the stove - getting it down and back up was the hardest part of the job. An extra pair of strong hands really helps-for anybody, not just a 56 year old woman. The actual repair was pretty easy. Most likely problem was pretty obvious after a little research. Easy to take off cover, get... Read more

Microwave won't heat but hums loudly? The diode regulates power to the magnetron. Test with multimeter—reads one direction only. Moderate DIY repair.
Replacing a magnetron in my particular 9-year-old microwave (a microwave/hood combination) was not a simple “plug & play” operation. That is why I am placing this in the slightly difficult area. First, it takes 2 people to remove the microwave from the top of the stove. Next the main outer panel need to be removed. After that, 2 sheet metal panels need to be removed in order to expose the high voltage components for testing. Always discharge the high voltage capacitor first before doing... Read more

Microwave says 'close door' when already closed? Door switch failure is the likely cause. Most DIYers replace all three switches together in 30-60 minutes.
It is difficult (if not impossible) to remove the electronic switches from the hard plastic latches. I replaced all three switches and both the upper and lower latches I also replaced the main 20 amp ceramic fuse which blew out when the latch/switches failed. Read more
Connects the two halves of your microwave cooking tray together. Replace if cracked, broken, or melted. Essential for proper turntable function.
Obtained the replacement motor and tray coupler from Appliance Parts Pro. Video of the typical replacement was very helpful to show what to expect and how to replace the motor and coupler. The removal of the bottom plate was held in place by several phillips screws. The motor was attached with two torx screws. The electric connection clips to the motor required needle nose pliers to pull them off. The tray coupler was simple to install after the motor was secured and bottom plate was replaced.. Read more

Replace your cracked, broken, or missing microwave door handle. This black exterior handle attaches to the outer door panel with mounting screws.
I took the door off via the top torx screw pin, then pryed apart the plastic trim piece that surrounds the inner window pane with the mesh screen. I removed the inside window panel which was a little tricky, and replaced the door handle. I did it with nothing more than a flathead, Phillips, and a torx. It was very nice that AppliancePartsPros posted a link with video instructions. This easily saved me a couple hundred bucks since I didn't have to have Maytag do it. By the way,... Read more

Microwave not heating or making loud humming noise? The high-voltage capacitor supplies power to the magnetron. DIY repair in under an hour.
I ordered a new magnetron and a new capacitor and after they arrived I set to work. I took plenty of pictures with my phone to remind me how the components came apart but it was pretty straight forward. Once the new parts were in and everything was reassembled the microwave worked good as new. The repair was less than a third the cost of replacement and no special tools are required. Just be careful to discharge the capacitor. This website is a great resource. Read more
White plastic handle that attaches to the microwave door exterior. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing. Installs with screws behind inner door trim.
Replaced it. The instructions did not come with the Handle and a picture I had of the parts did not tell me. I used a putty knife to removed the ring around the door and once that was off could see where the rest of the door was held in with snaps. Using the putty knife again I moved the rest of the door, to expose the handle. Unscrew the screws holding the handle placed the new one on and re-screwed it. Snapped the inter door back on and than added the frame trim back on. Putting it back... Read more
