This metal mounting plate supports the dryer door strike/catch interface. It provides a solid anchor point so the door latches securely, helping the dryer start and run only when the door is properly closed.
We ordered a door switch, dryer latch and strike plate. We realized that we only needed to replace the door switch. We watched a few videos and then replaced the switch. We couldn’t find a video for our model but they did give us a pretty good idea about what we needed to do. The hardest part was getting the original door switch out, all of the videos we watched showed us that it would pop out with a little pressure from a flat head screw driver, from the front of the switch. We could not get... Read more
The Drive Belt is an OEM replacement part for GE dryers. It functions as the critical linkage connecting the dryer drum to the motor. Reliable belt operation is essential for tumbling clothes and continuous airflow through the dryer. Causes of a bad drive belt include wear from years of operation, damage from improper cleaning or maintenance, or fraying/cracking from excessively heavy loads. Symptoms of a bad drive belt include:
This OEM GE part is also compatible with some Hotpoint, RCA, and select Kenmore dryer models.
The Dryer is 10 years old GE Front Load DPVH890JEMG. The drum would intermittently not rotate at the beginning of a cycle and occasionally would rotate but then start and stop throughout the cycle. I did not check error codes, but the windings on the motor were black. So it seemed reasonable that the motor was overheating and sending a signal to the control board to stop. There is one screw under the knob and 9 screws on the front to get inside. I decided to replace the bearings, capacitor,... Read more
The Kit Felt and Instruction is an OEM part for GE dryers. This kit includes felt seals and instructions necessary for installation. The felt seals help create a barrier between the drum and the front panel, retaining heat inside the dryer and ensuring efficient drying. They also reduce friction and wear on the drum and front panel.
Causes of a bad felt seal can include regular wear and tear, high heat exposure, or damage from foreign objects inside the dryer. A compromised felt seal can lead to inefficient drying and potential damage to the dryer components.
Symptoms of a bad felt seal include:
Switch is part of the motor. Removed drum and replaced motor. Repositioned drive belt and performed a preventive maintenance by replacing the felt drum gasket and bearing slides. Cleared the error codes and ran a drying cycle. All worked as designed. Well done Read more
The Trap Duct Assembly is an OEM part for GE dryers. This part directs the airflow from the dryer drum to the exhaust vent. This assembly ensures efficient drying by guiding hot air out of the dryer while collecting lint and debris in the trap, preventing it from clogging the venting system.
Causes of a bad trap duct assembly can include lint buildup over time, physical damage due to heavy usage, or obstruction from foreign objects.
Symptoms of a bad Trap Duct Assembly include:
Our GE front loader dryer is approximately 10 years old. It started making a loud noise. Before we sank another $600 for a new dryer, I decided to go online to search Youtube videos to try to find out if anyone else had the same problem. I found that a lot of dryers had drum support bearings that wore out and needed to be replaced and a lot of dryers were also having clothes caught up in them. I then found an Appliance Parts Pro video on how to fix this problem and found out what parts... Read more
The Filter and Mesh Assembly is an OEM part for dryers. This part captures lint and other debris from the air stream during the drying cycle, preventing it from clogging the dryer's internal components or being expelled into the surrounding area.
Causes of a bad filter include excessive lint buildup, damage from mishandling, or general wear and tear over time.
Symptoms of a bad filter and mesh assembly include:
This cleaning felt mounts on the dryer's front shroud. It lightly contacts the rotating drum to wipe away lint and residue, helping keep the drum edge clean and supporting consistent airflow to the lint filter.
Selected and ordered parts from online drawings. Watched videos showing how to make repair. Replaced worn parts with new ones. Suggested improvement: Videos didn't show my model (I know there are many models, showing all is probably not possible). In case of Felt the video showed a Maytag dryer when my model was GE. In my case Felt had torn and dislodge from slot so I didn't know exactly how it should be installed. A simple picture of the installed Item would help. Also the parts list should... Read more

I ordered two new baffles and 7 screws. I also ordered 6 large washers. We were running with one baffle held by only 2 of 3 screws. It appears that a repairman in the past had removed the large washers and over time, the screw heads reamed out the hole, causing the baffles to detach and break. In about 15 minutes, I was able to tighten up the existing baffle and add the two new ones. I also added the 6 big washers to help strengthen this to prevent future issues. I no longer have to listen to... Read more

This is a small screw, and it is made for dryers, washers, and washer dryer combos. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. Screws are common in these appliances and can cause many difficulties if they become loose, damaged, or missing.A new screw might be needed if there are areas in the appliance that seem off balance or not level. Another way to tell if a new screw is needed is if there are parts in the appliance that are loose or falling off. This is common over many years of normal use as the shaking of washers and dryers can eventually lead to loose screws. Be sure the washer or dryer is completely off before attempting to replace any screws. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold individually and is compatible with washers, dryers, and washer dryer combos made by General Electric.
