I'm way too lazy to go to a store and look at a gigantic wall of light bulbs. So I poured a glass of wine, googled the make and model of my refrigerator followed by "lightbulb" and this bulb came up. At first, I suspected the evaporator fan motor was going bad, but when I went in to check it out, I found the evaporator coils totally frozen up; the fan was cavitating. I defrosted the coils completely and checked everything out. By process of elimination the Defrost timer had to be the culprit. I unplugged the timer and sure enough, the motor winding was open. Thawed out the evap/heat exchanger assembly, replaced the overload/relay kit as well as the defrost control board and the fridge was back in business, everything working fine. I removed the shelves and the shelf holders, took the back panel off, loosened the evaporator. Removed the heater element and the thermostat. Re-installed the evaporator the back panel, shelve holders and shelves. Then I located the defrost timer in the refrigerator. Read more

Replaced the motor, however not the easiest to do with the older refrigerators. First I had to remove the shelf that hold the ice bin. There is a small screw midway underneath the tray. Once removed the shelf is loose but still hard to remove. There is a side panel that is slotted andonce removed the shelf can then be removed, but not knowing that it is a very odd fitting unit.
