Fix a refrigerator that won't roll or sits unevenly with this cabinet roller bracket assembly. Moderate DIY repair—tilt fridge, support on blocks, remove screws.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken front cabinet roller.   Don K. • South Jordan , UT • August 27, 2017

Removed all the food from the freezer and most from the fridge before starting. Tipped fridge back until I could place a 2 x 4 a couple of inches behind the front rollers. I contacted Appliance Parts Pros' wonderful (comprehensive and accurate) website, to search for the part. I located the part, so I ordered it and received it within 4 days, which is also an advantage of using Appliance Parts Pros. Upon arrival of the part, I had to grind off one end of the river that acts as a hub for the wheel to turn on. Then I slipped the the plastic wheel, that I received from Appliance Parts Pros, onto the rivet and welded it to the metal cage it fits onto. Finally I... Read more

A friends family had left her refrigerator out on a porch while they were remodeling the house she was supposed to move into. A wind storm blew the refrigerator off the porch and tore the door off. If you're tracking the full length of this project you'll be interested to note that I held up the bulb for roughly 3 seconds to conclude it was the right one. *don't drink too much wine before this part. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The refrigerator section was not staying cold as before and the noise was louder than normal   Stephen S. • Flagstaff , AZ • July 11, 2015

At first, I suspected the evaporator fan motor was going bad, but when I went in to check it out, I found the evaporator coils totally frozen up; the fan was cavitating. I defrosted the coils completely and checked everything out. By process of elimination the Defrost timer had to be the culprit. I unplugged the timer and sure enough, the motor winding was open. Replacing the defrost timer fixed my problem. Troubleshooting (using the information available on your web site) took a little... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The ice maker motor for the auger dispenser internal gears stripped   Paul D. • Swanton , OH • April 07, 2015

Replaced the motor, however not the easiest to do with the older refrigerators. First I had to remove the shelf that hold the ice bin. There is a small screw midway underneath the tray. Once removed the shelf is loose but still hard to remove. There is a side panel that is slotted andonce removed the shelf can then be removed, but not knowing that it is a very odd fitting unit. Then comes the unplugging which cannot be seen so it is all by feel. Once the shelf drops down the plug is now... Read more

Ice Stripper (Ejector)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP2182124

Ice stripper removes ice cubes from the ice maker mold so the dispenser or storage bin fills properly. Replacing a worn or broken stripper helps the ice maker eject cubes cleanly and reduces ice jams or stuck cubes. What it does:

  • Pushes or guides harvested cubes out of the ice mold into the bin during the ice maker's harvest cycle.
  • Prevents cubes from sticking in the mold; a damaged stripper can cause incomplete ejection or leftover ice in the mold.
  • Works with the ice maker's ejector mechanism to maintain consistent cube release and storage.
  • A faulty or broken stripper may lead to noisy operation, partial fills, or visible ice build-up in the mold.
What's included: One ice stripper. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair to avoid electrical shock.
  • Remove the ice maker or access panel per the manufacturer's instructions to reach the stripper; keep small parts and screws organized.
  • Inspect the ice mold and surrounding components for damage or ice build-up; clear ice before installing the new stripper.
  • After installation, restore power and run a test harvest cycle to ensure proper cube ejection.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice stripper was broken on ice maker   John A. • Baton Rouge , LA • March 12, 2015

Checked out the video on your site on how to disassemble the ice maker. Was really easy when you know the correct sequence. Only 3 screws and it's out of the freezer. Disassembled the ice maker on my kitchen counter and replaced the ice stripper. Reassembled and installed back in my freezer. It is as good as new Read more
