BEWARE THE HAIRDRYER In an effort to unfreeze the indoor water supply line with a hairdryer the extreme heat deformed not only the activator paddle but the housing that surrounds it. In the time it took to order and install replacement parts the frozen blockage had thawed. I went on line and read your advice page. Based on that, I removed the damper assembly (six screws counting the miserable light fixture) and found the damper door broken as predicted. I went back to your page and ordered the new part. Nice breakdown to get number. After that, I disassembled the damper assembly, found that the ABS plastic damper had broken from the actuator probably as a result of fatigue from cycling back and forth for twelve years. Condenser fan stopped on my big 2003 Monogram 4 foot wide ZIS480D Refrigerator. It is top mounted. The fridge had to be rolled out. 20 screws removed and the top sheet metal to get at the condenser. That was the only way to get at it. Works like new now. Read more

We bought a new house that has a 15 year old GE Monogram built in fridge. I had found that the fan in the freezer was making a lot of noise. Turns out the shaft was loose, causing the flan blade to wobble. Replaced the motor and fan and now it runs like a new unit. Read more

Changed fan motor, rubber grommets, and dust cover. It sounded like the vibrating sound was being caused by the motor. But, come to find out I had a chipped blade on one of the fan blades. Initially cleaned -wife using smaller hands. Better idea to review why there is no SOP on the matter, and replace the part. While pricing the door discovered nice pricing on drip tray, and while at it the touch pad was cracking, as well as the freezer slide out handles broke (and we thought they were just covers), so bought all we thought we could use. Watched your videos and easily replaced the solenoid, spring, flapper etc. The only reason it took me as long as it did is I have a GE monogram side-by-side in cabinet refrigerator. It is stainless steel and required me to take off all of the stainless steel skin on the freezer side door. While this was not that difficult it was time-consuming. Read more

This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased.
