The Capacitor is an OEM part for Whirlpool washers that starts the motor by storing electrical energy and releasing it when the washer begins its cycle. This part ensures the washer operates smoothly from the moment it starts, providing the necessary jolt to the motor that enables it to begin its various functions, including spinning and agitating.
Causes of a bad capacitor can vary. Electrical surges can harm its internal components, while wear and tear over time may result in a reduced capacity to hold a charge.
Symptoms of a failing Capacitor include:
- The washer failing to start.
- A humming noise when the washer is supposed to begin its cycle
- The washer starting but then quickly shutting down due to insufficient power to the motor.
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Leaking water from the tub seal David C. • Bessemer City , NC • January 27, 2018
THIE REPAIR WAS ON A WHIRLPOOL TOP LOAD WASHING MACHINE
At first I suspected the leak was from the pump because I had replaced the pump 2 times over 10 years. This time with the cabinet removed and filling the tub with water, I saw water running down one of the steel support arms that go under the tub, so I was guessing that it was coming from the tub seal. I had to use a jumper wire to bypass the Lid Switch so the water would drain.
Several months before I had this issue with the water leaking...

The washer was exceptionally loud during agitation cycle. Matt B. • Rio Rancho , NM • July 01, 2022
Found that by manually spinning agitator one direction it seemed free, but spinning counterclockwise it seemed to stick a little. Pulled dispenser and agitator and found the agitator washer hole was oval rather than round. Replaced the agitator washer and the washer seems to sound normally for now. Not sure if the new agitator washer will eventually grind down due to non-circular action from the transmission, or if the agitator and clip will keep the transmission centered long term. Should...

Water pump after 18 years wore thru the pvc housing causing a pin hole leak James B. • Palomar Mountain , CA • April 13, 2014
Found AppliancePartsPros on-line. Sent us the manual, parts list, etc. via .pdf files. Our local guy did not. Had parts in stock, two day shipping, totally painless. The parts were approximately 1/2 the price the local guy wanted. OEM parts. Perfect fit on replacement. The Whirlpool is so well made, it was very easy to repair. It has several items, over the years, which failed. In all cases, repair was painless with a few common hand tools and a tad of patience. AppliancePartsPros had...

Whirlpool LSQ8000 clothes mover (upper agitator) not working correctly Tom L. • Minneapolis , MN • March 10, 2018
I had replaced the Agitator cams a couple of times already due to my brother-in-law overloading the machine which stripped the teeth off of the cams. I also noticed the agitator seemed to 'wobble' and made 'knocking' noises quite a bit. I reviewed the video on the Appliance Parts Pros web site, disassembled the agitator and cleaned everything up, which helped a little, but not enough. Figuring the agitator itself was worn out also, I looked up and ordered all the parts for the upper agitator on...

This locking nut is used for many purposes on a range of machines including household appliances. This nut is often used for leg leveling for machines. It will help with vibrations from washers and dryers. If the nut is used for this purpose and goes missing or becomes damaged, it could cause the machine to vibrate more and seem louder.Nuts are made from metal and are built to last a long time. However, there can still be issues that arise. In some cases, the nuts might go missing if they become loose and the machine is moved. They could also corrode over time and need to be replaced. The replacement of the nut is typically a fast and simple repair. The nut is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced from the manufacturer. It can work with washers, dryers, and combo machines, and is compatible with models from Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, and Roper. The part is sold individually. Owners may want to have several on hand.

Agitator wasnt sloshing Paige B. • Clarksville , TN • January 30, 2015
I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. I was very proud of myself, as a woman, that I fixed this problem myself and didnt have to pay a repair...

Clothes not sinning dry enough Edward B. • Ellisville , MO • March 07, 2016
Based on recommendation to replace the clutch if clothes aren't spinning dry enough, I ordered a new clutch. Upon disassembly, I observed no Ring Wire/C-Clip and that the bearing appeared worn. Where did the clip go? Well, the bearing wore down such that it wore out the clip and bearing up to the sleeve of the shaft. Knocked out the old bearing, tapped in the new and was done. I disassembled the brake shoes but believe you can get the bearing in and out without doing so. Not a bad job, just...

Noise during second spin cycle Brent B. • Indianapolis , IN • July 02, 2017
Started out as a replacement of the coupling between the motor and the basket transmission ( 2 of the 3 legs on the transmission side broken.. )... Bought a new pump, since I would have it off... or so I thought.. Metal output shaft into pump + years of moisture = pump rusted on. Put it all back together - runs fine... for a while.. Then the old pump bearings burn out. Back apart.. Cut the old pump off the motor. Reinstall everything... Nothing, Just sits there and buzzes... Now...

This is an inner tub basket intended for use with washing machines and combination washers and dryers. It is located inside the washing machine in the middle of the appliance. If this occurs, this component will need to be replaced. Basic tools will be needed for the process. Make sure the washing machine is unplugged for safety. The hoses will need to be removed before taking out the inner tub basket and replacing it with a new one. The inner tub basket is sold on an individual basis. It is an authentic OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacture. This part is compatible with washing machines and washer/dryer combination appliances made by Inglis, Estate, Admiral, Crosley, Roper, Magic Chef, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Kenmore, and Whirlpool.
