The upper counter-balance weight mount design is a poor design to begin with. It started to rattle loose approximately 5yrs into the 8yrs that we've owned it. Most said that the rotor assembly was bad as the nut that held the rotor and other parts together had loosened and allowed slippage between steel and plastic splines. If your LG Front load washers sounds like a freight train, STOP USING IT. You're doing more damage and will need more parts to fix it. After the noise became unbearable, I began to explore and disassemble. I knew enough to know the bearings must be bad but had never done this repair before. Washer leaking from inlet valve or not filling properly? This three-coil water inlet valve assembly controls cold water, bleach, and prewash. DIY fix in 15-30 minutes.
1. I unplugged the washer from outlet 2. I turned off the hot and cold water taps going to the washer (both just in case) 3.
