I suspected the tub gears where ready to break so I dismantled my LG WM2032HW front load washer. I found the spyder gear corroded and broken. My front loader LG washing machine wasn’t working correctly. The clothes were either coming out unwashed or completely dripping. Washer won't spin or turns inconsistently? The stator assembly creates the magnetic field that drives the drum. Moderate DIY repair, 30-60 minutes.
The drum was hesitating and then not turning at all with an error code. Wife also smelled "something burning", which of course is never a good sign. Ordered a new stator and had my LG washer back up and running 15 minutes after getting the $100 stator via FedEx. This is the third repair on this machine in 8 years, all parts received from APP!!!! Googled the error and found out it was probably the fill valve/solenoid. My water meter is a smart meter and was tripped after doing only one load of laundry one day. So that with the FE error I knew it was time to but more parts for this washer. Swapped out the valve and its back to running normal. I started by watching the video and it was very helpful. I would make one suggestion. On our model the weights on the tub sit very close to the front gasket. It is much easier to put the gasket on the tub before you put the weights on. Also, since the washer was tore apart, I replaced the hoses and seals and shocks since the machine is about 8 years old. I originally thought the washer had a bad bearing, but once I got it disassembled it the spider arms were broken. This required the replacement of the tub assembly. The upper counter-balance weight mount design is a poor design to begin with. It started to rattle loose approximately 5yrs into the 8yrs that we've owned it.
