Cycling Thermostat (146°F), 1
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Heat was too high   Douglas S. • Mesa , AZ • May 17, 2015

I went ahead and ordered the element, and the 2 different thermostats not knowing exactly which one might be the problem. My My Maytag opens from the front and it was actually pretty easy to get into. Also gave me the opportunity to vacuum out the inside of the dryer. Pop the top off, remove the wires that connect the door switch (noting the colors and placement), take off the 2 inside nuts that hols the fron on, pull it forward and lift it off, 3 inside screws to take out to inside lint part... Got the infamous icemaker freezing up problem so common to Frigidaire Gallery and Professional series refrigerators. Sensor,Pressure
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: EBD50964602

The Pressure Sensor is an OEM replacement part for LG dryers. This sensor monitors the airflow or pressure within the dryer, helping to regulate drying cycles and ensure efficient operation. By detecting blockages or changes in airflow, it plays a critical role in maintaining proper performance and preventing overheating.

Over time, the pressure sensor can fail due to wear, electrical issues, or buildup of lint and debris. Damage to the sensor or its connections can cause the dryer to operate inefficiently or stop functioning altogether.

Symptoms of a bad pressure sensor include:

  • Dryer not heating properly
  • Extended drying times
  • Error codes related to airflow or pressure
  • Dryer shutting off unexpectedly during cycles

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore dryers.

Dryer Moisture Sensor Holder
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 4930EL2003B

This is a mounting holder or grille that secures the moisture sensor bars inside the dryer drum area. The moisture sensor detects how wet the clothes are and signals the control board to end the cycle when they're dry. Replace this holder if it is cracked, broken, or missing, which can cause the sensor bars to be misaligned and lead to clothes coming out still damp or the dryer running too long.

Dryer Thermostat

Dryer not heating or shuts off after a few minutes? A faulty thermostat often causes temperature regulation failure. Easy DIY fix with a multimeter test.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Whirlpool Thin Twin mod LTE5243DZ2 dryer ran but was not creating heat   David G. • York Springs , PA • July 17, 2019

I checked the continuity on the thermal fuse (which was blown) and knew that it needed to be replaced. This made me question why it blew (i.e. what caused it to fail). I checked continuity on the thermostat (high limit) as well as the thermostat for the element. Both passed a continuity test, so I removed the high limit thermostat to inspect it and could hear it rattling inside. This leads me to believe the spring inside had failed, so I replaced this thermostat as well. Put it back... Read more

Like a boss! Seriously, removed oven from wall (2 screws), removed about 15 sheet metal screws from front and top covers, unplugged wire harnesses one (or a few) at a time. Reassembled. Hint.
