Igniter Bake Parts

Glow Igniter (Oven)
Genuine Bosch part
By: Bosch
Part Number: 00487242

  • Handle the ceramic element carefully; avoid touching the igniter surface and do not flex, drop, or strike it
  • Transfer any reusable mounting hardware and wiring/connectors from the old part as needed
  • Verify secure connections and proper positioning near the burner before restoring power and gas

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven failed to light broiler also didn't light for a year before oven failed burner ignitor loose   Seaborn H. • Conroe , TX • November 20, 2016

Replaced both ignitors. Since I was working on the range I also overhauled the final 2 of the 6 burners on the stove top. Venturi tube and jet nuts were frozen and could not remove drip tray for cleaning and access to ignitor clip. Had to drill out Venturi tubes using a tapered bore bit. Used Dremmel with cutting wheel to remove jet nut. This range has been heavily used since new for 16 years. Works like new, again. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Thermador prds366 bake didn't heat but broil works normally   Gary D. • Los Altos Hills , CA • March 16, 2015

First guess was the Bake Element, but I ran my hands around it and didn't feel any clue of a break/failure in the element. Further research indicated that the Hot Wire Relay is the next likely cause, that was really bad news because that part is unavailable anywhere. Swapped the H1 and H2 wires on the Hot Wire Relay, and found that Broil still worked, which indicated that the relay was good and the Bake Element was the likely cause. This was good news because that Hot Wire Relay is made... Read more

Replaced the oven igniter, following the general instructions on the ApplicancePartsPro.com website. It took me a little while to figure out how to get to the wiring for the igniter, as I had no access panel on the back to get to the wires. In my particular Whirlpool oven (very old model) it turned out that you have to remove the pots/pans drawer under the oven to get to the exposed wiring at the back. Once I figured this out, the rest of the replacement was a snap. Read more
