This fixed-value resistor is an electrical component used in select dryers to limit current in a specific control circuit. It helps the timer or electronic control operate correctly by dropping voltage to safe, design-intended levels.
Provides precise resistance to reduce voltage/current in the designated dryer circuit Supports proper operation of the timer, control board, or end-of-cycle signal (varies by model) Failure may present as a timer that won't advance, an inoperative signal/buzzer, or irregular cycle behavior Replace if visibly burned/damaged or if testing shows an open or shorted condition What's included: One resistor Install notes:
Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing Access the console/wiring harness and note original wire routing Make secure, insulated connections and route the resistor/leads exactly as original to avoid heat or chafing After installation, run a test cycle to ensure proper operation of the affected function

After turning off power, just carefully pried the old switch out (putty knife to depress plastic clips above & below), pulled out gently (not much slack on wires) and removed the old wires by gently easing them off the broken switch with a...

2 of 4 burners lost variable heat finction James R. • Centreville , VA • August 04, 2015
Trial and error only cooktop unit. Everything mounted into the counter and needed to pull unit out. I figured it was a control switch or the burner itself. Based on costs, I took the less expensive route and replaced the 2 known malfunctioning switches. All on-line videos said it was a 2-3 hour process to replace. I finished mine in less than 30 minutes. Turned breaker back on and it works like a charm. 30 years old and still going strong.
