The dryer did not heat! Linda R. • La Jolla , CA • November 30, 2014
My appliance repair guy checked out the problem, but the stack washer dryer required the contractor to dismantle the cabinet to allow the repair to occur. So i wanted the parts available for the repair, so we would not have to have the dryer pulled apart in a small space for an extended time i ordered the parts on Friday afternoon and they arrived at my home before noon on Saturday! The contractor and the repairman were able to coordinate the repair on Tuesday morning, and though the...

Dryer was running but not heating Chris B. • Milton , FL • March 20, 2016
The heating element had a break in the heater coils, so I replaced it with a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. I also replaced the thermal fusible link and thermostat switch because they were so cheap it just made sense to go ahead and do it while I was in there. I also cleaned every nook & cranny in the dryer, then cleaned out the vent piping- which was about 100% clogged. The video's of how to tear down a dryer were indispensable to this repair - along with APP's always having the right...

Samsung dryer model# DV42H5200EW would not heat no error codes otherwise operating normally. James S. • Washington , DC • October 20, 2017
You can do this!
Although an Art Director by trade, I like working with my hands. I’m adept at working with tools and following instructions. In today’s disposable society, I prefer fixing things. That said, this has to be the easiest repair I’ve ever attempted with the largest cost-savings versus hiring a professional.
My brand new dryer had been in use fewer than six months (average 6 loads per week) when suddenly the dryer would not heat. The drum would spin, there were no error codes, and...

Worn bearing and felt causing dryer drum to rattle and creek Bay S. • Bothell , WA • January 05, 2016
Recommendations have fun and a bucket to prevent losing parts. First watch the videos, practice disassemble and reassemble the dryer drum. Make certain you have a good screw driver and spatula from kitchen (could not find my putty knife). Secondly, clean and inspect everything, make sure the motor bearing and belt pulleys are in good condition with little or no play. Third after you have confidently disassembled, vacuum cleaned, inspected all the worn parts, grease the motor and pulley,...

Took to long to dry John R. • Delphi , IN • January 02, 2015
After reading the reviews of others, I ordered and replaced the heating element, thermostat, cut-off & the moisture sensor bars. It was a success!
The element was definitely bad on one end, the wire was burnt in two pieces. Now it doesn't take 3 hours to dry a load! Well worth the money I spent. Easy to fix & do it yourself. I watched the video before buying the parts just to make sure that it was something I wanted to tackle. Very easy with the video. Great job Appliance Pro's!

No heat Dan R. • Woodruff , SC • November 30, 2018
First ran the built-in diagnostic tests. Got error code indicating that the inlet thermistor was open. Removed lower access panel and did continuity checks on the inlet thermistor, thermal cutoff and heating element. Even doing these checks is very difficult on this model due to the location of these parts and the limited access through the so-called access panel. But was able to get an open reading on the heating element, so I knew that at least that part was faulty. Could not get a reliable...

Checked and cleaned vent which was in need of cleaning, but not too bad (I do not consider this a primary causal detail, but can be a problem, so clean yours). Replaced Hi-Limit Thermostat (safety thermostat) after confirming the circuit was open with ohm meter. While I was in there, I completely cleaned the heater and ducting and internal workings of the dryer. Purchased, Igniter Kit, Gas Valve Coil Kit, and as a precaution Thermal Fuse and Cutoff-Tml. Was pretty confident the problem was the gas valve coil, but figured that why not just replace the other items while I had the unit apart. The ge dryer would stop while in the process of drying Efren P. • Miami , FL • November 18, 2014
Replaced the inlet control thermis (thermostat) . Now it completes the cycle but clothes are not 100 % dry. I would add 15 minutes more and that helps.
FYI: you don't need to remove the drum, just remove the top cover and that will give you enough space to replace the sensor

Soap dispenser door no longer opened during cycle Matthew S. • Omaha , NE • September 09, 2014
Process was a bit more complicated than the videos I had watched online. Had to remove both front panel and control panel to get to soap dispenser. Removed wires to soap dispenser and rinse aide dispenser. Removed wire "harness" around the top and right side of dispenser. Pried back the clips to allow dispenser to be pushed out. It was helpful to have another person to hold the door open at this point. Bent clips back and reinstalled everything. New part works great.
