Control panel not lighting up or buttons unresponsive? This dishwasher user interface board restores cycle selection and display functions. Moderate DIY.
The control went thru a month or so of erratic behavior; the display would come on and flash and beep without any input on my part. Then it died completely. I did a little research on the GE website and determined likely cause waa a defective user interface board. I found AppliancePartsPros.com and contacted their tech support, who directed me to check the output of the control board across 2 pins for 13.5v DC. I did this, and measured 13.8v, so control board was good. When I reconnected the... Read more
Fix a dryer that won't advance cycles or stops mid-cycle with this timer control assembly. Easy DIY repair with simple panel removal in under an hour.
After taking the timer apart to see why it would not turn I found the timer motor was jammed. Taking the motor apart I found a broken gear. Looked up the model number of the dryer and found a new timer assembly thru appliancepartspros.com I ordered, a very easy process, received the part 2 days later. Installed the assembly in about 5minutes and had the dryer back up and running Read more
The Defrost Timer is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire upright freezers. It serves as a crucial component responsible for regulating automatic defrost cycles.
Causes of a faulty defrost timer relate to 20,000+ hours of constant exposure to freezer temperatures as low as -10 degrees Fahrenheit. Such extremes can compromise electrical switching mechanisms over prolonged usage periods.
Symptoms of a failed defrost timer include:
This genuine Frigidaire replacement part is compatible with Kelvinator and some Kenmore units as well.
Suspected it was the thermostat, since temperature stayed the same at multiple settings over a 24 hr period. There was only three components inside the freezer besides the evaporator, the fan was working, so I decided to just go ahead and replace the thermostat and defrost thermostat. Also replaced the defrost timer by the compressor, just to get all the old parts replaced with new. I had already replaced the compressor, so now I've pretty much have a new freezer. The new parts works great and... Read more

This electronic control board manages oven functions including temperature regulation, cooking modes, and the clock display on your range. It mounts behind the control panel and communicates with the oven's sensors and heating elements. Replace this board if the oven does not heat to the correct temperature, displays error codes, has a blank or malfunctioning display, or if the controls become unresponsive.
I first felt along each heating element (bake and broil) hoping to find a rough or blistered place on them. But they were both smooth with no irregular places. (replacing the elements would have been the easiest and cheapest repair. Pulled the back off the range (unplugged, of course) - checked wiring. There were no loose connections or burned wiring. I disconnected the elements and checked them with a ohmmeter (VOM) and both had continuity. Discovered that both elements used the same... Read more

Fix F10 error code or oven that won't heat with this control board. Manages temperature, timer, and heating modes. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
I researched online and found that it was probably one of two things wrong: the heat probe or the control board (clock). Since the probe was less expensive, I ordered that on Appliance PartsPros. It arrived SO quickly, and with the repair video I easily replaced it. BUT... it still got the F10 reading. Sigh. So I found a local appliance repairman (I didn't want to replace a more expensive item if it turned out I was wrong). He was a good one: he listened to my story, said he was sure it was the... Fix a refrigerator that won't cool or has temperature control issues with this main control board. Moderately difficult repair, taking 15-45 minutes.
The indication was that when I tried to use the icemaker or water dispenser, the green LED on the front would dim and the ice maker dispenser wouldn't work. It was intermittent at first, but this indicated it may be a power management issue, in that insufficient voltage was getting to the ice dispenser motor. I unplugged the unit to reset the electronics for about a minute, and when I plugged it back it the compressor would try to turn on (solenoid or relay would click about every two... Read more
Display not lighting up or beeping randomly? This refrigerator user interface control board restores temperature controls and dispenser functions. DIY-friendly repair with 4 screws.
Looked up the model number on the internet, found a diagram on AppliancePartsPros.com which led to part number for the user interface, also found "how-to video" on-site that included how to remove user interface panel. When the part came it was an easy fix, remove defective user interface panel - remove 2 screws mounting lip, then remove 2 screws mounting panel, unplug 4 connectors in back, plug connectors into the new panel, mount new panel, and re-mount lip. Less than 10 minutes, the panel... Read more
Refrigerator not cooling or freezing? A faulty temperature control thermostat causes inadequate cooling. DIY repair in 5-10 minutes with basic tools.
This was a 2000 model so rather than just replace the defrost timer which was visibly burnt on the terminals, we just did everything. The cold control, defrost timer, thermostat, defrost heater and the compressor capacitor were all replaced. I had the same issue on my older unit and tore it apart replacing one item at a time over a three month period so on an older one i suggest do it all while it is apart. Read more
Refrigerator freezing food or not cooling? This temperature control thermostat regulates cooling cycles. DIY-friendly repair, takes 10-20 minutes.
First I thought it was the defrost timer (talking to a friend). Replaced as $30+ dollar part and cheaper than a service call. Unfortunately, that did not help. Did some google searches and came across ApplicancePartsPros.com. They had a ton of useful information from chat availability to videos. Through the chat, we determined most likely it was the thermostat. I ordered it with expedited shipping and it shipped the same day and arrived earlier than expected. However, the part looked... Refrigerator not cooling but lights work? This inverter control board regulates compressor speed. Moderate DIY repair with proper diagnosis.
I have an 11 year old GE Monogram side by side built-in fridge that had been having cooling problems intermittently. The fridge would work for a day and then the compressor would not come on for 8 hours and temps would rise to the upper 20s in the freezer. Fans, lights, and everything else appeared to be functioning properly. It went like this for a few weeks and we put it off until the compressor decided not to come on at all for a full day. Being barely able to use a multi-meter, I watched a... Read more

Dishwasher won't advance through cycles or stops mid-cycle? This timer controls wash, rinse, and dry durations. Moderate DIY repair, 1-2 hours.
Replaced the timer and drain solenoid (timer had stuck in "solinoid active" position long enough to burn up the solenoid). Complete the project in two stages on two separate days: 1) replaced solenoid, which took about 30 minutes, 2) replaced timer. Accessing both was straight forward on this simple design dishwasher. Removed the kick panel to access the solenoid. Removed 3 screws and a circlip to remove the old solenoid. Reversed the process to complete this part of the repair. The... Read more
