Long Lite Small Engine Start Switch Parts

Using instructions I obtained over the internet, I first removed the DW's bottom cover panels so I could look inside the DW (with a flashlight) while it was running. First check to see how many leads your switch has before ordering - I ordered before I took things apart, and got an incorrect 2 lead version when I needed a 3. After doing a little research it seemed likely that our 7 year old LG's suspension system was getting old. We're getting very loud sounds on our spin cycle. Purchased the triple burner and dual burner element. I added my model of stove and I was able to pull up diagrams of the stove parts. The parts were easy to find using the diagrams and the burner elements were marked 17 & 15 so I placed my order. Parts were here in a couple of days. Biggest problem was trying to get at the switch to replace it. Had to remove two allen head screws to gain access on the back panel of the range hood. The allen heads were very small fortunately I had a number bits from my old electric screw driver that allowed me to remove them. Even then I had to snake my way cutting my hand to get to the switch to replace it. The positive part the switch was over $25 less the if purchased directly from GE through Appliance Pros. Read more

Took off the back of the top pushed the switch forward and lifted it out after I unplugged it. Put the new switch in the opposite of how I took it out, plugged in the wires put the back on and finished my laundry. Read more

I changed both the Control Panel and the Oven Control Board. Since I had previously changed the Oven Control Board, this was a fairly quick fix. I was also able to change out one of the Indicator Lens that had been broken. Read more

Trial and error only cooktop unit. Everything mounted into the counter and needed to pull unit out. I figured it was a control switch or the burner itself. Based on costs, I took the less expensive route and replaced the 2 known malfunctioning switches. All on-line videos said it was a 2-3 hour process to replace.
