This lower bake element supplies the primary heat for Bake cycles, restoring consistent oven temperatures and even results. Replace a burned-out or damaged element to resolve no-heat on Bake, extended preheat times, and undercooked food.
Problem solved by replacing element. An easy fix requiring only a Philips screwdriver. HOWEVER, be sure to turn off the electrical circuit to the oven because voltage is applied to one side of the element even when the oven control is turned off. Whirlpool convection oven. Access to convection element from inside. Three screws to remove plate covering fan blade. Then one screw to remove element bracket. I placed tape over the holes with the wires so they wouldn’t pull back into the panel. Remove old element at tabs and replace. Very easy fix. Turned off the oven power at the breaker box. Removed the (2) 1/4" screws holding the front support bracket and removed the front support bracket.
