Jay S Medway , MA November 23, 2015 Heating element on our oven burnt out Simple replacement of the heating element. Found multiple videos on youtube that show how to to do this repair. The cooktop is easily opened by removing 3 screws, but I recommend having a second set of hands when performing the repair because you will have to hold up the glass stove top and unscrew the components. The heating element is attached to a bracket that comes off easy as well. Also have to detach 5 wires that mate by sliding together. We took a picture before removing to make sure we rewired the correct way. The only difficulty we had was removing the 2 clips the attach the element to the bracket. I had to pry them off using the screwdriver like a prybar. However once they were off it was easy to swap the element and reassemble everything. This was overall an easy repair and worth doing ourselves. Read More... 8 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

Richard M Yardley , PA February 05, 2017 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG ELECTRIC RANGE Center of burner was not getting hot Swapped the left burner w/ the right burner, to see if it was the burner itself, or a switch/other component. First, I took pictures with my phone, in case I could not remember the wiring order. This was a very easy fix. Open the oven door, remove 3 screws on the underside of the top. Then, prop the top with a piece of scrap wood, roughly 14inches long. Unscrew the "surface is hot" switch, then the metal brace that holds the front burners. Unclip the burners, unplug the wires, and swap to the new burner. Took about 20 minutes to complete. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
