First check to see how many leads your switch has before ordering - I ordered before I took things apart, and got an incorrect 2 lead version when I needed a 3. On starting the repair, at first thought I might have to take apart console - but happily, no. After turning off power, just carefully pried the old switch out (putty knife to depress plastic clips above & below), pulled out gently (not much slack on wires) and removed the old wires by gently easing them off the broken switch with a...

2 of 4 burners lost variable heat finction James R. • Centreville , VA • August 04, 2015
Trial and error only cooktop unit. Everything mounted into the counter and needed to pull unit out. I figured it was a control switch or the burner itself. Based on costs, I took the less expensive route and replaced the 2 known malfunctioning switches. All on-line videos said it was a 2-3 hour process to replace. I finished mine in less than 30 minutes. Turned breaker back on and it works like a charm. 30 years old and still going strong.

The fan control switch is the panel-mounted switch that sends power to the appliance's fan motor. Replacing a worn switch restores reliable on/off control and proper airflow so the fan starts and stops when it should.
- Provides user-operated on/off power to the fan/blower motor
- Helps regulate airflow for cooling, venting, or convection depending on model
- Typical symptoms: fan won't run, runs continuously, intermittent operation, or a loose/broken switch shaft
- Mounts behind the control panel and is actuated by the exterior knob/lever
What's included: One fan control switch Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing
- Remove the control knob/actuator and panel trim to access the switch
- Note wire positions or take a photo; transfer wires one at a time to the new switch
- Secure with the original hardware, restore power, and test operation

The fan switch on our jenn air cooktop broke Jonathan B. • Bend , OR • March 29, 2015
After looking at several YouTube videos that were only moderately helpful for my particular model, I disconnected the power at the breaker, disconnected the wires below the cooktop to the junction boxed lifted the whole unit out, including the fan assembly. I flipped it upside down and took off the screws holding the unit to the glass top. Although the new fan switch did not look the same as the original switch, the new switch does fit. The new switch did not come with a hex nut. The old hex...

Intermittent compressor performance "clicking" relay Anthony J. • Orlando , FL • November 12, 2018
Replaced start relay and capacitor. Good news, repair successful. Bad news, parts supplied are not direct fit plug and play on my Frigidaire model. Supplied parts are larger than the original. Wire retaining clip needs to be modified to hold relay in position against compressor. Original Molex connector did not connect to the supplied relay. The male spades on the supplied relay are larger than the original. Needed to cut off connector and crimp on larger female spade connectors to individual...

No cooling and no hum from compressor when plugged in Collin H. • Quincy , WA • October 23, 2014
I suspected the start-relay and tested it due to the lint plugged condenser coils. The start-relay rattled when shook, a telling sign it is no good due to over heating. I tested the compressor terminals and compared them the results with the Tech Data Sheet found with the unit, to find my compressor was still good. I checked the start capacitor with a capacitor tester, comparing the results with the rating printed on the side of the capacitor and found it to be good. I cleaned the condenser...
