The parts are under the stovetop and the knobs are attached to them. We bought the correct ones from AppliancePartsPros, these were the correct ones. Seems we have an oddball stovetop. It's a GE drop in stove. The parts were easy to change. It was a simple matter of putting the wires on the new switch in the same place there were on the switch. Replaced the switch took a total of about five minutes. I pulled the stove out and turned the breaker off so I only had to pull it out enough to get a 1/4 " nut driver in behind it. Removed three screws and the back cover came off. I pushed the switch threw from the back and switched over the two wires then reversed the process. Found replacing the switch to be doable, but it was quite a delicate operation. This was for a Thermador range with a broken downdraft switch. It required the removal of 5 small screws which could easily be fumbled and dropped down where it would be difficult, if not impossible to retrieve. Two of the screws were facing the back, so it was a blind operation to remove and replace the screws. Required an offset screwdriver, as space was tight. I replaced both the probe and temp control. The problem came in calibrating the new control, the instructions that came with control did not factor in a double oven, called back and talked to Michael at tech support and he found proper instructions, walked me through the process and sent me a PDF file with all information needed. First, it was going to cost $95 for an appliance guy just to look at it! The parts from AppliancePartsPros.com arrived a day ahead of schedule. (I'm a big APP.com fan.) I removed the metal front door panel, then removed the broken plastic Panel-Facia which houses the handle. Because the buttons and handle trim needed to be transferred from the old Panel-Facia to the new one, I expected that, also being plastic, they may break when making the transfer, so I ordered all of those parts as well, which only drove the cost up about $32. Remove bottom panel, remove top panel, remove drum. Had to cut old squirrel cage off. Remove motor to remove old wheel shank. Remove belt switch, and replaced. Videos from AppliancePartPros helped a lot.. Read more
